JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT ON CONTRACT
CONTRACT PERIOD: TWO YEARS
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Department: Finance
Division: Corporate Office
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY;
Under the direction of the CFO or designate, the Accountant on Contract would be responsible for the preparation and review of accounting schedules in preparation for annual audits and preparation of Draft Financial Statements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES;
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Account Balances on the Accounting System Trial Balance with Balances on the Financial Statements.
- Reconciliation of the AR sub-ledger to GL
- Obtaining and Review of Customer confirmations for a sample of customers selected for testing.
- Reconciliation of the annual provision for bad and doubtful debt.
- Confirm whether there were write offs of receivable balances.
- Detailed listing of all other receivables as at year-end.
- Preparation and Reconciliation of the Inventory sub-ledger as at year-end.
- Preparation of workings for the inventory obsolescence provision as at year-end
- Costing computation for the inventory as at year-end.
- Reconciliation of the inventory cost of sales expense as at year-end.
- Supporting documentation to validate any taxation recoverable balances as at year-end.
- Complete and accurate PPE register as at year end.
- Reconciliation of the PPE register to GL as at year-end.
- Listing of all PPE additions as at year-end.
- Listing of all PPE disposals as at year-end
- Computation for any gain/loss arising from the disposal of PPE on an annual basis.
- Preparation of Annual Depreciation computation.
- Incorporation and Accounting for any external valuation reports.
- Incorporation and Accounting for any impairment assessments conducted by Management.
- Development cost reconciliation which agrees to the TB as at year-end.
- Detailed listing of all development costs.
- Amortization workings for the development costs.
- Accumulated deficit reconciliation.
- Reconciliation of the AP sub-ledger to GL as at year-end.
- Detailed listing of all payments made on an annual basis.
- Preparation of Detailed listing of Year-end Accruals.
- Detailed listing of all other payables
- Preparation of Schedule of Royalties Payable as at Year-End and Royalties Expense Schedule on an Annual Basis. Reconciliation with Reports from the MEEI.
- Supporting documentation for all royalty payments made.
- Preparation of Schedule on the environmental rehabilitation liability as at year-end.
- Preparation of Schedules to support the various categories of cost of sales as at year-end.
- Reconciliation of the inventory cost of sales expense for the period ended 30 September 2021/2022.
- Payroll register to GL reconciliation as at year-end.
- Preparation of all statutory liabilities as at year-end.
- Preparation of Draft Financial Statements with accompanying Notes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS,
- AACA or CIMA certified or an equivalent professional degree programme.
WORK EXPERIENCE,
- Minimum of Five (5) years’ working experience at a senior accounting level.
CORE COMPETENCIES & OTHER SKILLS,
- Proficient in Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Sound working knowledge and hands on experience with accounting business software.
- Sound working knowledge and application on International Accounting Standards.
- Good analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
The position of Human Resource Officer is a supervisory position which reports to the Human Resource Manager. The incumbent is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, staff wellness and compensation and benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations.
- Certifications in Mediation, Industrial Relations, and other related programmes.
- At least five (5) years working in a Human Resource Environment with three years at supervisory level.
- Knowledge of policies, systems, and techniques in the discipline of Human Resource.
- Knowledge and understanding of principles, practices and laws that govern the conduct of Industrial Relations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staff.
- Administer Payroll.
- Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits.
- Provide Industrial Relations advice, guidance and support to management and staff.
- Assist Managers, Supervisors, and staff with the interpretation of Human Resource Policy Memorandum of Agreement and Industrial Labour Laws and ensure compliance.
- Provide assistance in developing Human Resource plans.
- Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions.
- Assist in maintaining favorable relations among employees.
- Administer Employee Benefit Programmes, such as Pension, Group Health Plan, National Insurance Claims, Workman’s Compensation etc.
- Assist in development of company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyzes union benefit demands. Obtain and prepare cost data for company and union proposals and final settlement.
- Assist with preparation of job descriptions.
- Conduct Industrial Relations Research or the Resolution of Industrial Relations Issues.
- Attend Conciliation meetings at the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Court for taking direction on behalf of the company.
- Liaise with recognize majority union to organize and plan meetings.
- Promote workplace safety.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with stakeholders and situations.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficient in Micro soft suite and payroll software.
- Ability to work under demanding conditions.
- Courteous, tactful, diplomatic, and highly confidential disposition.
