The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and coordinating of the maintenance function and managing the CMMS to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize the useful life of the Company’s fixed assets.
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and coordinating of the maintenance programme to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize the useful life of the Company’s fixed assets. The Maintenance Planner is expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with all senior maintenance, production, external contractors, original equipment manufacturers and service providers. The Maintenance Planner actively collaborates with various departments to minimize the risk of disruptions to the Maintenance Plan that will degrade the reliability of equipment and assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, schedules, and co-ordinates all maintenance activities through the administration of the CMMS.
- Develops, manages and updates the preventative maintenance plan.
- Utilises the CMMS to manage backlogs for preventative maintenance, corrective work orders, user requests, rescheduled jobs and routine system inspections.
- Develops equipment performance improvement action plans through the continuous analysis of CMMS data and identifying downtime and its root causes.
- Provides scheduled (weekly/monthly/quarterly) projections through collaboration with the Production Planner and Production and Maintenance Teams, while focusing on achieving maximum uptime, reducing overhead cost and maintaining high equipment reliability.
- Maintains and develops the Company’s technical equipment database/library; monitors the weekly close-off of planned and corrective work orders, ensuring that wrench time is accurately recorded.
- Ensures that work is performed according to health and safety standards, applicable industry codes, and ensures that routine audit findings are completed while supporting follow-up and actions.
- Verifies on a routine basis that all planned maintenance activities are enabled by available spares and manpower to achieve optimal completion rate.
- Ensures the timely scheduling of equipment calibration, certifications, and regulatory inspections; supports and assists with the preparation of the annual departmental budgets, Opex and Capex plans.
- Performs duties in compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and HACCP guidelines.
- Monitors and guides data entry completed by staff to ensure that the CMMS is updated with accurate and current information for planned jobs, analysis, and reporting.
- Prepares reports and recommendations to support action plans on maintenance equipment, work activity effectiveness and manpower productivity as required.
- Performs other related duties as may be required by the job function.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a maintenance planning role
- Maintenance Planner certification will be an asset
- Strong ability in the use of CMMS software
- Strong proficiency in MS Suite (excellent Excel skills)
- Above average interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Above average time-management skills
- Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and HACCP guidelines applicable to the food manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of operational tools and equipment, including application towards precision maintenance, task productivity improvement and sustaining of OEM-standard equipment performance
- Knowledge of OEE and TPM methods
- Knowledge of engineering and technology related to current trends and advances in the food industry

The Internal Auditor leads and manages the Internal Audit function, develops and executes the annual risk-based audit plan in accordance with established standards.
JOB SUMMARY
The Internal Auditor leads and manages the Internal Audit function, develops and executes the annual risk-based audit plan; reports on the adequacy of controls and systems for managing and mitigating risks; executes financial, operational and compliance audits in accordance with accepted Internal Auditing Standards, and in compliance with regulatory accounting bodies. The position is responsible for the formulation of policies and procedures, the planning and coordinating of audit programmes to evaluate the Company’s operating systems, policies, procedures, and practices.
The Internal Auditor is accountable to the Board of Directors, submits reports to the Audit Committee, and attends meetings as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the Internal Audit Team and ensures that the team skillset is adequate to the needs of the Organization.
- Creates the annual risk-based audit plan in consultation with the Executive Management and the Board of Directors in accordance with established standards.
- Plans and conducts audit programmes to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of established operating systems, policies, procedures, and practices and to determine efficiency of internal controls.
- Designs programs to test controls; develops, implements, and monitors appropriate audit plans, policies and procedures geared to the achievement of defined objectives; monitors the effectiveness of established policies and procedures and recommends modification and/or adjustment as necessary.
- Performs data analysis to identify anomalies or issues in the testing of controls, identifies the root cause for control deficiencies and evaluates management action plans to resolve.
- Monitors the implementation procedures to correct potential risks, identified internal control gaps, and follows up to assure any deficiencies have been resolved and sustained.
- Provides analyses, appraisals, and recommendations on activities to ensure effective discharge of departmental responsibilities.
- Identifies key control points and weaknesses in the systems and/or functions and develops innovative and creative recommendations for mitigating risk and correcting unsatisfactory conditions.
- Prepares written reports on the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the system or function under review and presents findings for corrective action.
- Ascertains the extent to which the company’s assets are safeguarded from losses and are all accounted for, and where necessary initiates investigations into irregularities of a financial or operational nature.
- Liaises with external auditors to coordinate audit activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and generally accepted accounting standards.
- Prepares draft budget proposals and administers approved budget for audit department.
- Performs special audits and reviews as requested by the Audit Committee; undertakes investigative audits, analyses and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed objective opinion.
- Attends the Board of Directors’ Quarterly Audit Committee meetings and provides input on audits performed, key risk areas and management action plans.
- Performs other related duties as may be required by the job function.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Certified Internal Auditor designation and member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
- ACCA or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related discipline
- CISA designation would be an asset
- A minimum of ten (10) years of Internal Audit experience; five (5) of which must be at a management level with experience in managing and supervising staff
- Intimate knowledge of IFRS and IIA Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
- Highly developed and effective leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others, resolve conflicts and communicate effectively
- Excellent auditing and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and problem solving
- Ability to deliver within strict timelines in a fast-paced demanding environment
- Maintain strict confidentiality and objectivity in the performance of duties
- Ability to maintain professional independence and integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of integrity
