      Do you thrive researching and then crafting great stories that can then be presented to large audiences? We are hiring a storyteller for the AWS Developer Relations which is an incredible opportunity to join an exciting team in Amazon!

      In this role, you will partner with the Director of AWS Developer Relations, and other executives, to identify, research and craft engaging stories targeting thousands of Developers and other technical audiences. The stories will be delivered in different physical and digital large scale events, video shows and writing blog posts.

      This role is a combination of researcher/journalist and a ghost writer. You should be skilled in research and interviewing a wide range of subjects, dive deep into details and have a creative growth mindset. You will own projects from the pitch phase through final delivery and will handle writing proposal, as well as logistical coordination, interviewing, scripting, and editing. This is a hands-on position that involves creativity, navigating ambiguity, and providing creative solutions in the moment, all while continuously raising the bar for our team’s storytelling.

      Your stories will be leveraged in interviews, presented during large events like re:Invent, recorded in the Amazon studios, streamed on Twitch, Youtube, promoted on social media or packaged as a blog post.


      Key job responsibilities

      • Research – similar to what a journalist would do, doing online research, recording the raw information and distilling the key insights.
      • Write – Scripts for event keynotes, interviews (interviewer or interviewee), Blog posts, and articles as shadow writer, linked in articles and social media
      • Collaborate – Work with video and content stakeholders to develop authentic, and engaging articles, presentations and stories.
      • Storytelling – Create compelling stories that connect with hands on builder audiences. Ability to find engaging stories within a cloud technology industry

      Customers are rapidly adopting Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a way to build scalable and cost-effective web and IT solutions for their businesses. To do that effectively, they need training, and not just a couple of PowerPoint slides and a long lecture. AWS is developing highly technical courses with extensive hands-on labs (ILT), e-learning courses that can be accessed 24×7, and self-paced labs that get customers deep into AWS technologies. You’ll get to educate and play at the same time!

      The qualified candidate will have excellent writing skills, a healthy technical knowledge of IT domains and the ability to translate technical content for technical audiences into easy-to-understand training. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have training, instructional design or technical documentation experience. Above all, you will have a passion for learning.
