Accounts Supervisor (Salary range: $8,000 – $10,000)

The Assistant Accountant supports the Accounting Department and has oversight of the preparation, computation, research and analysis of all Accounting data, related to the Front Desk, Costings, Banking, Company Health plan, Comptroller Payments and Payables. He/she may contribute to the production of Financial Statement as directed by the Accountant.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance/Accounting, or related area and/or
Professional Certification in Accounting such as ACCA level 2 and above
MBA with specialisation in Accounting / Finance

Must have supervisory experience
Minimum of three years of Accounting experience in a large, fast-paced, deadline oriented organisation and/or Auditing Firm.

Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, relevant tax legislation and working with best practice policies
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Proficiency in Peachtree will be an asset
Experience in Payroll and using Payroll software (Micro Pay) will be an asset
Experience producing accurate financial reports, statutory payments etc., an asset

The Senior Payroll/Accounting Technician supports the payroll/accounting function through the confidential, accurate and timely review, entry and processing of payroll activities as directed by the Payroll Supervisor. He/she is also responsible for meeting strict deadlines and accurate processing of Payroll, preparing and filing statutory payments, National Insurance claims and other related activities as instructed.

The Senior Payroll/Accounting Technician:

must be meticulous and be able to spot irregularities and/or incomplete information and bring same to the immediate attention of the accountant.
is required to continuously update his/her knowledge with regard to relevant legislation and ensure the necessary changes are implemented.
maintains collaborative relationships with internal / external stakeholders and is able to communicate with all levels of staff with regards to queries etc.
must be focussed, highly confidential, meticulous, with a positive work ethic.
Ensure the Payroll unit achieve its goals of timely and accurate payroll administration, payment of taxes, NIS and related functions.
The Senior Payroll/Accounting Technician may be required to assist in all related functions that may affect daily accounting activities.

Requirements

Sound Secondary Education with passes at CAPE / A Levels in Business, Accounting or related subjects and/or
Certified Accounting Technician Level 3 OR ACCA Level 1 OR BSc Accounting, Business Mgmt. or related discipline
Must have knowledge in both Payroll and Accounting with experience working with a Payroll / Accounting Software an asset, preferably MicroPay or EZ Pay Software and Peachtree
Must have at least two year’s working experience with Payroll and Accounting
