The Branch Supervisor contributes to the efficient operation of the branch. This includes ensuring goods are ordered or requisitioned on a timely basis and assisting the Manager in supervising staff, whilst providing excellent customer service.
TITLE: BRANCH SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
LOCATION: All Locations
TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Branch Supervisor contributes to the efficient operation of the branch. This includes ensuring goods are ordered or requisitioned on a timely basis and assisting the Manager in supervising staff, whilst providing excellent customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILIIES:Operations
- Efficiently supervise the daily operations of the branch and ensure smooth functioning of the Sales Floor.
- Process voids and clear cash tills regularly and in a timely manner.
- Approve and process any relevant discounts.
- Accurately reconcile receipts, cash payments and prepare deposits for collection.
- Open and close store to ensure the hours of operation are in compliance with the company’s regulations.
- Assist in preparing for retail seasons by ensuring that products and promotional material including banners, signs are in stock.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are upheld.
Inventory
Working with the Inventory Clerk to ensure the following:
- Have intimate knowledge of products sold and their use.
- Ensure that shelves are properly stocked at all times.
- Ensure that products are properly merchandised and accurately priced and labelled.
- Ensure that products are replenished through the use of the company’s inventory system.
- Monitor fast- and slow-moving items and report to the Manager.
- Identify current and future trends that appeal to consumers and pass on information to managers/buyers.
- Be aware of items that may be damaged and follow company procedures concerning damaged items.
- Ensure that all products are handled with care.
- Report immediately any shortages or damaged items to Manager.
People Management
- Assist the manager in rostering of weekly staff and any recommendations that would improve the customer service through staffing.
- Assist in training staff in company procedures through punctuality and attendance, dress code and behavior and customer service.
- Be able to make sound decisions using judgment and know when to involve a manager.
- Be able to fairly and appropriately delegate tasks and assess staff performances and handle disciplinary action when necessary.
Safety and Security
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and take initiative to hold others accountable of same, including but not limited to safety rules, personal belongings, use of company’s property and equipment and security violations (see operations manual).
Customer Service
- Ensure the highest level of customer service and encourage others to do the same through speech, body language, dress code, willingness to assist and product knowledge.
- Be fully knowledgeable on branch services such as Event Registry, Gift Vouchers and Promotions.
- Effectively train employees in selling techniques, including cross-selling and substitutions.
- Ensure that any maintenance work is reported to the manager immediately.
Perform any other duties as assigned by Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Experience
- 5 CXC O’ Level passes including Math and English.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising employees.
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment is an asset.

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing environments and changing priorities.
- Demonstrate initiative, recommend improvements, and take action.

- Self-starter, excellent initiative.

- Communication, Interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Quick Learner – gain knowledge of products and procedures in a short time frame.
- Knowledge of company procedures and products and retail operations.
- Speed and accuracy are equally important.
- Passion for retail.
- Simple merchandising skills.
- Demonstrate confidentiality, tact, diplomacy, and professionalism at all times
- Overtime may be required.
