PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE CORPORATION
VACANCY
The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following contract position:
ROAD SUPERVISOR
Three (3) Positions
JOB SUMMARY:
The Road Supervisor is responsible for the efficient monitoring, co-ordination and functioning of the fixed route services of bus transport in a specific geographic area. The incumbent is responsible for quality control and the well-organized response to emergencies, incidents and customer feedback. The Road Supervisor is required provide assistance and relevant information to the Operations Departmental Staff. The responsibilities include exercising considerable discretion and independent judgement when responding to unforeseen events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the efficient supervision, co-ordination and functioning of the fixed route services of bus transport in a specific geographic area.
- Conducts daily checks on scheduled fixed routes and other services to observe Driver/ Conductor’s performance to the assigned duties in order to note their departures, arrivals, treatment of passengers and adherence to the PTSC’s regulations and schedules and compliance with the Corporation’s policies and procedures.
- Reports schedule delays, accidents and complaints.
- Periodically conducts on board checks to ensure service quality is being maintained.
- Assesses and determines need for changes in service, such as additional vehicles/ schedules, route changes, and makes recommendations to schedules to improve service delivery and overall efficiency.
- Monitors, reports and addresses disruptions to service.
- Monitors route conditions, missed stops, delays on schedule performance, bus stop punctuality and the efficiency of the fixed route service.
- Identifies and reports fixed route service deficiencies and deals with emergency situations.
- Ensures Corporation standards and policies are maintained and adhered to and all regulatory and collective agreement provisions are complied with, this includes but is not limited to Driver/Conductor’s uniform and dress code policies.
- Reports shutdowns and accidents and coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely dispatch of an appropriate replacement bus.
- Seeks and identifies continuous areas for improvements for the PTSC.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certificate in Supervisory Management and Report Writing.
- Certificate in Transport Management, Fleet Management or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Five CXC O’Level passes.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- At least three years’ experience in a Public Transport environment or equivalent, with supervisory experience. Track record of no accidents.
- Valid Class 5 license.
- Defensive Driving will be an asset.

VACANCY
The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following temporary position.
INSURANCE CLAIMS PROCESSING CLERK (TEMPORARY)
SUMMARY
To provide administrative support services to the Corporate Secretary for insurance related matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing of all Insurance Claims;
- Maintains a database of all Insurance Claims;
- Follows up with relevant departments on outstanding documents, pertaining to Claims submitted;
- Processing of all request for all additional Motor Insurance Coverage;
- Liaises with the Brokers on the processing of all Claims and requests for additional Motor Insurance Coverage;
- Drafts routine correspondence for approval and signature of the Corporate Secretary;
- Maintenance of the hard and soft copy files on all Insurance matters;
- Preparation of monthly reports on Insurance Claims;
- Preparation of special reports as requested;
- Ensures that sensitive material is kept in confidence at all times;
- Any other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- CAPE Diploma;
- Associate Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or Management would be useful;
- A least (3) three years’ experience in an Administrative function;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office;
- Innovative, flexible, results – oriented and professional in conduct;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing;
- Can work independently as well as collaboratively;
- High levels of confidentiality;
- Basic Computer Literacy.
- A full range of secretarial skills.
- Good organizing skills.

Legal Officer
PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICE CORPORATION
VACANCY
The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following contract position.
LEGAL OFFICER
SUMMARY
The Legal Officer provides technical support to the Legal Department. The position requires sound knowledge of contract law, employment law and all relevant statutes, as well as a strong business acumen.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides legal research and recommendations on a variety of matters of a more complex nature, relating to the Corporation’s business;
- Drafts contracts to which the Corporation is a party, when required;
- Prepares correspondence, legal instruments, contracts and other documents relevant to the legal activities of the Corporation;
- Represents the Corporation at the High Court, Ministry of Labour and the Industrial Court;
- Assists in monitoring changes in relevant legislation to ensure that the Corporation is compliant with all relevant statutes and regulations;
- Provides legal and business development research to support the introduction of new services or new modes of operations, when required;
- Ensures the maintenance of litigation files, register and calendar;
- Performance of any related duties as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) qualifications from a recognized institution;
- Legal Education Certificate (LEC) and/or Legal Practice Certificate (LPC);
- At least three (3) years similar experience;
- Additional qualifications in Business Administration will be considered an asset;
- Comprehensive knowledge of Civil Procedure, Contract Law, Property Law, Insurance Law and applicable legislation within Trinidad and Tobago;
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant statutory regulations pertaining to public transportation.
Any comparable combination of training will be considered.
