JOB SUMMARY: –
The incumbent will report to the Chief Education Officer and will be required to operate at a strategic level in the development and formulation of appropriate objectives, plans, policies and procedures for the achievement of the mandate of the Educational Technology Unit.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: –
· Initially, develops Job Descriptions and work plans for the staff of the Unit, and assists in the recruitment process.
· Formulates and implements policies and strategies for implementation of the Unit’s operations.
· Provides leadership for and manages a team of professionals to ensure the efficient operations of the Unit.
· Advises the Permanent Secretary and Minister with respect to matters relating to educational technologies.
· Identifies performance indicators and monitors performance in relevant areas.
· Overseas the maintenance of an inventory of the Ministry’s digital and technological resources.
· Prepares budgetary projections for the operations of the Unit.
· Collaborates with other Divisions/Units of the Ministry in the exercise of his/her functions.
· Represents the Ministry at meetings and stakeholder engagements, as appropriate.

WEB TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent is required to design, develop, implement, manage, maintain and provide support services under appropriate direction and guidance for the internet technology based applications of the Ministry.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists with the design of web-based applications of the Ministry/Department, by, for example, the configuration of packaged applications, and documents such designs using defined standards, methods and tools.· Develops, interfaces, tests, corrects, and documents web-based applications including the website as part of the Ministry’s overall application development, configuration and maintenance process in accordance with agreed standards and specifications.
· Assists with the development and execution of software tests, including user acceptance testing, for all new or updated web applications such as the
Ministry/Department’s website and intranet solutions.· Commissions and decommissions internet-based applications in accordance with the Ministry/Department’s defined procedures and instructions or accepted leading practice, and accurately maintains the related service and support records.

· Maintains knowledge of specific technical specialisations in internet technology based applications including website and intranet technologies; programming procedure and languages; web design, authoring, development, administration and security tools; and utilises this knowledge in performing job duties.
· Maintains an awareness of the opportunities provided by new and emerging internet technology-based, tools and techniques and advises on their relevance and potential value to the Ministry/Department.

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent is required to facilitate the administration, coordination, and management of the Textbook Rental Loan Programme (TRLP) in all schools in Trinidad and Tobago and will be responsible for the coordination and management of all activities of the Textbook Management Unit.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: –
- Leads the Procurement of Textbooks and Learning Materials:
- Facilitates the Procurement of Textbooks and Learning Materials between the procurement agency and the Ministry:
- Ensures accurate and updated Textbook Rental Loan Programme data is captured for reporting purposes; e.g. records of what was ordered and delivered to each school.
- Oversees the internal inventory operations of the TMU
- Leads in the design and recommendations for improving the Textbook Rental Programme: e.g. policy changes
- Develops and implements the strategic and operational plans that guide TMU operations:
- Prepares reports and data on the TRLP as required:
- Attends Strategic meetings, training and sensitization sessions to ensure the TMU’s views.
