This position reports to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, and is primarily responsible for developing and implementing the overall asset management strategy for all Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) throughout the lifecycle of the Facility. The position is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical and Instrumentation selected, installed and maintained during the construction, commissioning and operational phases of this project meets applicable standards, codes and industry best practices. The position functions as the Technical Authority for all E&I matters associated with the Facility and provides technical support to the Construction Team and E&I sub-Contractors during the construction phase of the Project.
Duties include but are not limited to: – develops, implements and manages the Asset Integrity Management Program for all E&I Equipment on the Facility i.e. both Inside Battery Limit (ISBL) and Outside Battery Limit (OSBL)’; provides technical expertise and responsibility for the commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting and ensures continued reliability of the Yokogawa Distributed Control System (DCS) and Safety Instrumented System (SIS); provides technical expertise to commission and maintains the integrity and reliability of all Electrical and Instrumentation Systems and Equipment on the Facility, throughout its lifecycle; provides E&I Engineering support to Operations during working and non-working hours; conducts periodical audits of the E&I maintenance systems and processes; develops scope of works and coordinate the selection process for E&I Engineering Service Contracts and Contractor personnel.

Qualifications/ Experience Required
BSc Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering with at least ten (10) years working knowledge and experience in the testing, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of DCS and SIS systems (both Hardware and Software). Experience with Yokogawa Control systems would be an asset.
At least five (5) years working knowledge and experience with the maintenance and troubleshooting of critical process plant equipment such as; Steam Turbine speed control systems, Centrifugal Compressor anti-surge systems, Bently Nevada (or equivalent) machinery protection and monitoring systems, Control Valves, Emergency Generators, High, medium and low Voltage Power Supply and Distribution Systems, Transformers, Motors, Switchgear, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), Fire and Gas Detection and Monitoring systems, Electronic Card Access Systems, Control Valves and SMART instrumentation.
Three (3) years working experience with the development and delivery of E&I related improvement/modification OPEX and CAPEX projects is required.
Working knowledge and experience with the MS Office suite, MS Projects or Primavera, AutoCAD and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as MAXIMO, SAP or JD Edwards.; Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s), Cause and effects, single line drawings, control loops and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA’s) techniques, such as HAZOPS and What If’s; DCS systems, high/medium/low voltage electrical power distribution systems, and applicable industry standards and codes, such as NEC, API, ASME and NFPA.
