DATA ENTRY CLERK AND CASHIER VACANCY

We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk/Cashier to join our team to fill an entry-level data entry and cashiering position.
Cashier and Data Entry Clerk
Job Description:
The ideal candidate must be tech savvy, ability to multitask, reliable and has good moral and ethical values. You will be responsible for overseeing all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently as well as entering data correctly through a digital database. This position also requires an individual who must be able to work extended hours.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a data entry and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create bills
- Transfer data from hard copy to a digital database.
- Type in data provided directly from customers.
- Receive payments, issue receipts, and keep track of all cash and credit transactions
- Review data for deficiencies or errors.
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Process sales transactions
- Accept payments
- Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
- Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
- Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts
- Handle customer complaints and queries
Requirements and skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must be able to read and write legibly
- Proven experience as data entry clerk
- Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
- Basic understanding of databases
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to calculate sales and change quickly
- Accountability and accuracy in reconciling sales receipts
- Oriented toward serving others and helping customers
- Customer-service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented and confidential
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of three (4) CXC subjects including English Language, Mathematics/Accounts
- Minimum of one (1) year’s related work experience
- Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must have a Character of Certificate
