Summary:
The Driver/Courier provides support within the Department by completing routine office tasks.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- Evidence of having completed secondary level education.
- Valid Trinidad and Tobago Driver’s License
- Valid Police Certificate of Good Character
- Defensive Driver Certification
- Evidence of Customer Service training will be an asset
- Proficiency in the use of routine office equipment
- Knowledge of and familiar with routes throughout Trinidad and Tobago
- Highly confidential
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Ability to work hours outside of the standard business day
- Five (5) years driving experience, including two (2) years’ experience, performing similar functions in a large business organization to an Executive Office Holder
OR
Equivalent combination of Qualification, Training and Experience
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects daily assignment and vehicle keys
- Ensures that the vehicle is clean and ready for use every day.
- Performs routine checks on designated vehicle(s) inclusive of oil and coolant levels, brake function, lights and tire conditions; records in appropriate logs and takes corrective action as necessary
- Identifies and requests funds required for fuel top-up, cleaning services etc. in preparation for vehicle’s use the following day
- Observes any malfunctions in the assigned vehicle(s) and ensures that these are reported to the Office Administration Department in a timely manner
- Conducts follow-up and provides feedback on repairs done on vehicle(s)
- Delivers and/or collects assigned company vehicle for service as per maintenance schedule(s) or as necessary
- Takes action as required to ensure cleanliness of vehicle(s)
- Collects meals for meetings or other events as required
- Provides driving services for other UDeCOTT employees to specified locations
- Maintains communication with the Department Head throughout the day in accordance with standard procedures
- Performs any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned
- Collects mail, documents, packages from government agencies, private organizations, or individuals and initials entries in appropriate logs as required
- Delivers documents to named addressees, including Board Directors and initials appropriate entries as required
- Visits post office(s) and clears mail boxes in accordance with approved schedules
- Pays bills etc.
- Executes personal tasks as may be assigned.

Providing day to day support to the Department and work sites
Summary:
The Health, Safety and Environment Officer carries out the day to day operations of the HSE Department by providing technical support to the HSE Manager. He/she will be required to execute field monitoring duties on contractor worksites and will be assisted by the HSE Assistant.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety from an accredited academic institution
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to respond to emergency situations
- Thorough knowledge of current health and safety best practices and standards
- Ability to work on own initiative and meet aggressive deadlines
- Project Management Certification will be an asset
- Certification in Behavioral Safety Management will be an asset
- In-depth knowledge of OSH Act
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques and concepts.
- In-depth understanding of relevant ISO standards and reporting techniques
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and software relevant to job functions.
- Five (5) years’ experience performing HSE duties in a large, diverse organization

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Development of Human Capital
- Performs functions as outlined in the various HR processes as assigned
- Assists with the evaluation of employees and mentoring, coaching, training and development where necessary.
General HSE Functions
- Conducts risk assessments and develops a HSE gap analysis for the Corporation
- Produces status reports on a monthly basis and undertakes follow-up on recommended remedial action to ensure compliance
- Prepares and issues HSE information/guidelines to internal stakeholders as necessary
- Assists in the development and implementation of relevant HSE policies and procedures for the Construction and Facilities Divisions and Office Administration Department
- Facilitates HSE related training as directed
- Assists in drafting and implementation of an Employee Health and Safety Handbook, Templates for the conduct of Risks Assessments and any other HSE Guidelines / Forms for use throughout the Corporation
- Completes HSE Audits in accordance with the OSH Act and Amendments and the approved Audit Plans
- Performs Health & Safety Risk Assessments at an assigned location –both scheduled or unscheduled
- Develops a list of PPE to be issued to employees based on roles within the Corporation; and submits for approval
- Attends safety meetings and follows-up on outstanding safety issues as necessary.
- Assists in the development of Emergency Evacuation Procedures as directed
- Highlights non-compliance of safety issue(s) with assigned Project Manager / Facility Manager and records discussions inclusive of recommendations with timelines for management’s information and follow-up action
- Participates in HSE related meetings and takes Minutes for follow-up action
- Assists in ensuring that HSE signage is procured and strategically placed in keeping with OSH requirements
- Develops and maintains an up to date HSE Register/database
Construction Projects (including construction at Facilities)
- Supervises the activities of the HSE Assistant on specific site(s) as are assigned
- Undertakes continuous Site Inspections and Walkthroughs and prepares reports on:
- Availability and use of HSE equipment by Corporation’s Employees, other project site staff and visitors
- Documents where applicable, non-compliance by contractors and/or vendors as it relates to the OSH Act and Regulations and the Corporation’s HSE Policies and Procedures for Contractors and Vendors
- Reviews and assesses Contractors’ Incident and Accident logs and submits reports with recommendations within the specified timeframes
- Makes recommendations for HSE improvements on project sites in keeping with international best practices and industry standards
- Ensures that required HSE signage is installed as required
Administrative Offices/Corporation managed Facility
- Undertakes safety inspections / risk assessments and makes recommendations to improve HSE compliance as necessary
- Ensures that HSE signage is effectively displayed as a guide to both staff and visitors
- Conducts fire /evacuation drills as necessary
Records
- Records Minutes of all meetings and undertakes follow-up activities on decisions/action items and produces progress reports for superior
- Ensures that HSE documentation are kept in accordance with the provisions outlined in the OSH Act
- Maintains the Deportment’s records management function in accordance with the Corporation’s approved policies and procedures
- Performs any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned

The Quantity Surveyor Technician (QST) provides support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and is responsible for using Architects’ drawings to work out costings for building projects.
Summary
The Quantity Surveyor Technician (QST) provides support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor by carrying out delegated tasks. He/she is responsible for using Architects’ drawings to work out costings for building projects. The cost estimation will be used as input for procuring goods and services to ensure best value for money. The QST also provides technical support in monitoring costs related to the building/construction process as required.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
- Technician’s Certificate in Quantity Surveying from an accredited academic institution
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors will be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing large construction projects
- Working knowledge of Building Codes
- Ability to carry out site inspections
- Ability to prepare cost estimations with a high degree of accuracy
- Working knowledge of OSHA
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written including presentation skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and software relevant to job functions
- Minimum of (5) years’ working experience performing similar functions in a large, diverse organization.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
Quantity Surveying:
- Conducts research in order to estimate materials, time and labor costs associated with each project
- Conducts research relevant to scope of works and provides conceptual estimates.
- Assists in the preparation of and adherence to project cost budgets.
- Assists in the valuation of work in progress as required, inclusive of preparing forecasts of final costs.
- Measures quantities of materials etc. on site and determines the value of works in progress.
- Prepares cost estimates/ Bills of Quantities for projects designed in-house or by subsidiary companies
- Inspects works done by Developers and Contractors to determine compliance with specifications and to verify payments to be made to Contractors for works completed
- Investigates claims for any additional works / variations and submits a report inclusive of recommendations as directed
- Assists in validation and updates to project cost summaries during pre-construction and construction/closeout phases.
- Assists in developing policies, procedures and standard operating procedures for the Unit
- Monitors stages of construction and advise on actual costs against forecasts
Administration:
- Prepares reports/Board Notes and any other documents in accordance with approved templates and timeframes as directed
- Monitors current data relative to Project including labour, material and contractor cost forecasting
- Conducts research to submit relevant QS related information to superior as directed
- Assists in the records management function for the QS Unit
- Performs any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned
