Job Purpose & Summary:

The Product Officer is responsible for the coordination of all processes that ultimately lead to the implementation of new and pertinent changes in JMMB Trinidad and Tobago’s Products and Service Portfolio. Conducting ongoing reviews of our products and service aimed at enhancing our offerings to increase our client value proposition. Achieved by monitoring, rationalizing, and developing a Product Suite to ensure the provision of integrated solutions tailored to meet target client’s life goals, needs and requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:

Co-ordinates the development, approval and implementation of all new or materially different products or services in keeping with applicable legislation, for example, CBTT’s New and Materially Different Product and Services Guideline. Including the preparation of the relevant, detailed Procedures and Guidelines as required.
Conducts Orientation and Quarterly Front Line Training or on an as needed basis on all Products and Services (TT Group) to ensure that all team members have a working knowledge of all product and service offerings.
Annually conducts a review of existing Products and Services together with the Service Fees and Charges. The Product Review guides the amendment, rationalization and de-marketing of individual products
Administration of JMMB Bank’s (and its subsidiaries) Product Development Policy, including host Product Committee Meetings at least twice annually or as needed.
Conducts and or co-ordinates competitor and other market research required to facilitate the understanding of needs, development, rationalization and pricing of new and or existing products. Reviews the rates, features and marketing initiatives across competing products in the market and makes recommendations for rate changes and product tweaks
Ensuring that insight from client research is incorporated in all product/solution offerings to strengthen the value extended to clients of JMMB (Group TT).
Supports the continuous monitoring of the relevance and competitiveness of the product suite based on client needs and usage analysis, as well as marketplace products analysis. Inclusive of conducting post Launch Product Assessment to incorporate research on performance, feedback from Branches/users and propose recommendations
Support Group product reporting by providing required product performance information product reports as needed. Performs any other duties as may be assigned.

Education, Training & Work Experience Required:

BSc. Management Studies / Economics / Finance / Mathematics / Statistics
Certification in Project Management or related discipline
Train the Trainer Certification would be an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years Financial Sector experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated analytical experience or requisite qualification
Knowledge of JMMB Bank’s operating guidelines, core operating system, relevant policies and procedures and the relevant Policies and Guidelines of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and Visa International
Working knowledge of local and international financial sector instruments, services, laws, regulations, ethics, practices, procedures and professional jargon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations Oversight

Oversight and management of back office operations, including Settlements
Timely approval of client initiated transactions
Ensuring compliance with procedures
Ensure all services are executed timely and accurately
Ensure accuracy of reporting prepared by the unit
Oversight of stationary and other related inventory

Performance Management

Coaching and development of team members supervised directly

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Enablement

Assist with developing strategic operational and budgeting plans, implementing as approved and reporting results on schedule.
Periodic review of procedures to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of controls
Manage development of procedures to address evolving business needs
Anchor best practices and documented procedures
Continually evaluate operational risk within the business and changes within the regulatory environment
Recommend and implement approved solutions, including updates to procedure

Operational Support

Support all team members with procedure clarification as required
Support with efforts to resolve escalated matters
Participate in developing, and maintaining, the Business Continuity Plan for JMMB Investments;
Ensure the physical structure, amenities and security matters are functional

Compliance

Manage on-site examinations from Regulators and Auditors.
Provide support to the Compliance Manager as it relates to Regulatory issue resolution
Timely resolution of all audit issues, while ensuring controls are implemented to prevent reoccurrence
Implementing and responding to non-compliant matters identified, including Customer Due Diligences discrepancies
Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Education, Training & Work Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance.
Familiarity with financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon.
At least seven (7) years working experience with at least five (5) at a supervisory level in operations and a client service environment within the financial sector
Thorough knowledge of financial sector instruments, market operations, ethics, relevant laws, regulations, and professional jargon
Thorough knowledge of Securities (Bonds, Equities and Mutual Funds) and IPO/APO management
Exposure to credit policies and practices would be an asset

Skills:

High level of computer literacy, particularly word-processing and spreadsheets.
Excellent written, oral and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to converse in Spanish would be an asset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
Strong people management skills, team building skills and ability to motivate and coach team members.

Branch Operations Manager

Job Purpose & Summary:

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for providing support to the Branch Manager in the delivery of quality customer service and high efficiency in the overall administration of the Customer Service Area. Ensures that the Branch remains fully compliant with all policies, AML procedures, and regulatory and statutory guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the frontline Tellers to ensure that the bank’s core values are maintained in all dealings through a superior and consistently high quality of service to the Bank’s internal and external customers. Ensures Tellers are fully compliant with all bank policies and procedures at all times
Act as the primary team builder to ensure morale and motivation of frontline staff is always as the highest level and primary back-up support for all frontline supervisors
Ensures that branch procedures are followed and to roster officers to perform snap check audits Reviews applicable existing policies and procedures annually and where required make recommendations for improvement
Ensures that the lock-up process for Tellers and Business Support Officers (Level 1) is properly supervised and compliant to established procedures. Recommends improvement to process where gaps identified
Ensure that all discrepancies for cash report are addressed and rectified on a daily basis and report all exceptions/breaches to Branch Manager immediately
Oversees the operations of in-branch ABM’s, night safe and monitor bank cash ensuring that excesses above approved limits are notified to the Branch Manager and approved by Risk where advised, remitted to Central Bank
Ensures that policies and procedures are adhered to in the execution of daily operations, and liaises with Audit and Compliance departments as required to address any branch discrepancies if and when necessary.
Monitors the lock- up process monthly and ensures Keys and Combinations are properly maintained
Perform other related duties as assigned.
