OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE
- Conducts reviews of the NGC Group’s management and internal control systems, governance processes and risk management.
- Improves the NGC Group’s operations and image through the recommendation of cost-effective solutions and identification of deficiencies and non- conformities.
FUNCTIONS
- Plans and designs audit tests, control evaluation questionnaires and surveys for routine audit assignments, flowcharts and documents systems, processes, and procedures.
- Verifies operating documents, records, reports and transactions for NGC and affiliated companies as assigned and determines the reliability and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Verifies assets and inspects site records, works, plant and field operations for NGC and affiliated companies.
- Participates in investigative, cross functional and system development teams to obtain depth and breadth of knowledge to aid in decision making.
- Researches and summarises laws, ordinances, contracts, or review legal summaries and recommends ways to achieve compliance effectively and efficiently.
- Initiates preliminary discussions on deficiencies with operating personnel to obtain relevant data and information for effective audit execution.
- Investigates variances, deficiencies and non-conformities for root cause and conducts cost/ benefit analysis of possible solutions and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Records, summarises, and analyses audit findings, draws conclusions, and prepares preliminary written reports in assigned audit areas.
- Participates in both Entry and Exit conferences with line and executive management to ensure a wholistic approach and completeness of the process.
- Determines the status of outstanding recommendations and appraises the adequacy of corrective action taken to improve previously identified deficiencies.
- Research and drafts advisories to support requests from Board Committees and management and staff for consultancy services in the areas of quality, best practices, and business risk management.
- Executes any other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for the position are:
- BSc in Finance, Management, Law, or ACCA Level III
- Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certification in Risk Management Assurance
- Four (4) years’ experience in a related field (accounting, finance, inspection, quality control, investigation and organizational assessments) two (2) of which should be in an Internal Audit Department
- Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry

- Oil and gas industry standards and practices
- Accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices
- The Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors
- Management information systems terminology, concepts and practices
- Industry programme policies, procedures, regulations and laws
- Strategic management theories and practices
