The Collections CSR is responsible for performing collection efforts and adjustments to past due accounts through telephone calls or personal visits.
Job Purpose & Summary:
The Collections CSR is responsible for performing collection efforts and adjustments to past due accounts through telephone calls or personal visits. The Collections CSR must maintain good customer relations with borrowers and effectively solves problems in an effort to resolve account delinquency and prevent losses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- While adhering to company policies and procedures, demonstrates good customer service skills while initiating outbound calls and receiving inbound calls from customers.
- Negotiates account resolution and accurately inputs and documents actions within the collection systems while maintaining company performance and productivity standards.
- Maintains up-to-date customer contact information in the collections systems.
- May be required to support other queues to facilitate teamwork in the department.
- Escalates and assists other team members with calls as needed.
- Ensure that the bank’s core values are maintain in all external and internal dealings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of Five (5) CSEC or ‘O’ Level subjects inclusive of Mathematics and English
- Minimum of one (1) year working experience in Customer Service
- Prior experience in collections
- Any knowledge of retail and commercial banking products and services will also be an asset

- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy.

Manage and coach the Credit Officers in the maintenance of quality client relationships for their portfolio of accounts.
Job Purpose & Summary:
Manage and coach the Credit Officers in the maintenance of quality client relationships for their portfolio of accounts. In addition, for the Incumbent’s assigned portfolio, to partner with All Clients to achieve their strategic business objectives while at the same time adhering to the Bank’s risk appetite and policies approved by the BOD. This involves documenting comprehensive credit proposals that reflect the Client’s Financial and Business needs which would facilitate growth. In addition ensures that all clients’ requests are completed in a comprehensive, accurate, professional and timely manner. This will contribute in a very significant way in the Bank achieving its Strategy as approved by the Board of Directors leading to the achievement of JMMB’s Vision and Mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the duties of the Credit Officers within the Unit to support the submission of credit-worthy proposals for approval.
- Responsible for the assignment of portfolios to the respective Credit Officers and the subsequent excellent maintenance of Client Relationships
- Prepares comprehensive credit proposals ensuring that all risks are identified, analyzed and with mitigates, if applicable, in order that informed recommendations for approvals are made. Works closely with the Portfolio Management Unit with respect to booking of approved facilities.
- Ensure close client contact is maintained to take advantage of upsell opportunities of the Incumbent’s assigned portfolio and to ensure that assigned upsell targets are achieved by all Credit Officers.
- Ensures that close client contact is made to identify problems which would result in timely Watch listing of clients in the Incumbent and Credit Officers’ Portfolios and early corrective action taken.
- Keep abreast of current economic, industry and other environmental developments that may impact clients which will facilitate meaningful conversations to inform decisions both by the client and the Bank.
- Responsibility for Audit Results as they pertain to the Unit
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Training & Work Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Economics/Finance or related field from an accredited University
- Master’s degree in Business Management or related field would be a benefit
- Institute of Banking and Finance of Trinidad and Tobago (IBAF) qualifications would be a benefit
- A minimum of five (5) years banking experience in Credit Risk

- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products

- Sound knowledge of Central Bank Policies and Guidelines
