Web Content Specialist
VACANCY NOTICE FOR THE POSITION OF: Web Content Specialist
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations, the Web Content Specialist plans and executes the design of attractive web and social media sites that create amazing user experiences; and maintains and upgrades service for all TTL’s sites.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Web Design Specialist will be held accountable for:- Creating the look, layout and features of the website and other social media sites.
- Maintaining and upgrading all sites and monitoring their performance.
- Working with all users within TTL to keep content updated.
KEY DUTIES
- Assesses clients’ needs, conceptualizes website design, plans and executes all visual design stages
- In collaboration with internal industry specialists, designs, plans and maintains a website that is easy to use, has a strong and attractive visual presence, centralizes resources, promotes local attractions and activities, lists local tourism businesses, suggests itineraries, provides historical and geographical information on different locations, provides interactive maps, accommodation listings and centralized booking systems.
- Develops site navigation by categorizing content and funneling traffic through content.
- Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with brand and packaging specialists, copywriters and graphic artists to create and design images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
- Prepares site by installing and configuring server software; installing programming language using authoring and formatting tools; ensuring cross-platform compatibility; establishing links.
- Establishes locatability by registering with search engines.
- Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
- Protects site by designing and installing security precautions.
- Maintains site appearance by establishing design guidelines, best practices and display standards and enforcing content and standards.
- Keeps equipment operating; troubleshoots breakdowns; performs preventive maintenance; and establishes a service program.
- Provides support to internal stakeholders on website content issues.
- Optimizes the volume of inbound traffic from search engines to the organization websites as well as the goal conversion rates.
- Continually revitalizes and optimizes campaign landing pages for stronger Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ranking.
- Evaluates and analyses data related to usage of all digital sites; tracks branding, packaging, marketing promotion and campaign analytics and prepares reports for relevant Divisions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- First Degree in Journalism, English or Communication or Computer Information Systems or other relevant discipline.
- Certification in REACT (Facebook) and or Angular (Google) or similar Web Content Certification.
- At least 3 years’ post qualification experience in the design and maintenance of web sites and other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Solid experience in computer programming, process flows, storyboards and site maps.
- Sound knowledge of animation, design imaging, multi-media design, programming and technology, and video and audio editing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Creative and innovative.
- High level of teamwork.
- Knowledge of HTML and other Web scripting languages and design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Up to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies.

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Manager of Destination Development, the Visitor Experience Officer studies contemporary visitor preferences and works with all stakeholders in enhancing the experiences of all visitors to the Trinidad destination.ACCOUNTABILITY
The Visitor Experience Officer will be held accountable for:- Enhancing the experiences of domestic, regional and global visitors to the Trinidad Destination.
- Providing all industry stakeholders with the training, knowledge and information required to provide high levels of, professional, quality service and enhance visitors’ experiences on a consistent basis.
- Adequate staffing and training of the personnel working at the Visitor Information Centers (VIC) and 24hr Go-to-Desk and to ensure ongoing accessibility via telephone, online or in person.
- Providing ongoing statistics on Trinidad’s visitor experiences and their comparison with industry requirements.
KEY DUTIES
- Works directly with the Tourism Development Officer, public and private sector agencies/organizations/communities/special interest groups and individuals to guide the provision of amenities, health and safety requirements, products, services, attractions that meet global standards and enhance visitor experiences.
- Plans, organizes and oversees the activities of Visitor Information Centres (VIC) throughout Trinidad including providing internet access to full information on tourism offerings and services.
- Facilitates/coordinates training programmes on Visitor Trends, Needs and Expectations for front-line personnel including taxi drivers, tour operators, hotel and restaurant staff, visitor information centers/desks; conducts public awareness programs utilizing all media channels.
- Assists communities, special interest groups, other tourism sector stakeholders in establishing temporary VICs for their attractions and events.
- Collaborates with the Research Unit in the design of Visitor Experience Surveys; coordinates the administering of surveys to visitors, residents, vendors and other participants to document their experiences and perceptions and provides reports to key internal and external stakeholders with recommendations, if required, to increase visitors’ experiences.
- Updates the Destination Management System on an ongoing basis on visitor experiences and analyses results against industry benchmarks.
- Keeps abreast of market trends, and the changing needs and expectations of visitors.
- Ensures an adequate supply of booklets, maps, event calendars, schedules, magazines as well as current emergency contact numbers (e.g., police stations and hospitals) for all VICs and event sites.
- Maintains ongoing liaison with Information Desks in Trinidad and Tobago’s Overseas Embassies and ensures that they receive current, timely information and materials on Trinidad offerings.
- Visits sites, events, attractions, accommodations, meetings, conventions arid conference facilities to assess their visitor experience strategies and to provide guidance to improve the visitor experience levels.
- Monitors the planning, preparation and implementation for special tours, visits, and events in Trinidad to ensure high visitor experience levels
- Establishes programs and opportunities for visitors to meet and engage with residents in local communities and experience the local tourism offerings.
- Performs regular inspection of VIC premises for prompt reporting and action on health, safety and environmental issues, maintenance and servicing of equipment, office supplies and machinery.
- Undertakes all other duties directly related to the job scope.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum – First Degree in Tourism, Marketing, Business or other relevant discipline.
- 5years experience in Tourism/ International Travel Industries.
- Proven experience in delivering high standards of customer service.
- Knowledge of the Tourism Sector would be an asset.

Senior Project SpecialistJOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Manager of Destination Development, the Senior Project Specialist supports the vision for the Trinidad Tourism Sector by leading, managing, coordinating, and monitoring projects and programmes to enhance the destination’s infrastructure, amenities, sites.ACCOUNTABILITY
The Senior Project Specialist will be held accountable for:- Managing the budget (PSIP for Tourism).
- Developing and evaluating project plans and progress.
- Establishing quality and regulatory standards for each project.
- Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Ensuring that all projects are in keeping with the Trinidad brand image and brand guidelines.
- Creating a project dashboard which outlines the status of all projects.
KEY DUTIES
- Leads the strategic planning phase of projects
- In collaboration with internal clients, analyses project proposals and establishes project objectives.
- Establishes a project plan for each project inclusive of scope of work, time frame, funding, staffing and develops and oversees a critical path for individual projects.
- Implements scoring and prioritization models to determine the priority of tasks and schedules within the general framework and timeframe approved by the CEO and the Board for TTL’s projects.
- Creates structured schedules and project plans based on project goals, resources needed, potential risks, timelines and budgets.
- Day-to-day management and decision-making responsibility for tasks and project teams under his or her control.
- Approves project specifications, organizes project staff including the writing of Request for Proposal (RFP) and approving contractor; authorizes technical studies, as needed.
- Oversees the maintenance of the Project Risk Register.
- Partners with colleagues in different roles to assess project workloads and impacts for different divisions/departments and identifies dependencies and issues across teams.
- Monitors deliverables, analyses variances and initiates/recommends corrective actions.
- Establishes and enforces project standards, procedures, rules and regulations in compliance with regulatory, quality assurance and best practice requirements and monitors compliance.
- Establishes key relationships and coordinates with government regulatory agencies on key projects.
- Utilizes appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scopes, schedules and budgets and measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Tracks the status of all projects in the organization based on updates from project officers and provides senior management with project status reports.
- Oversees the maintenance of the projects data base/dashboards.
- Participates in industry briefings, forums and workshops across the country to stay abreast of new tourism related project activities and provides valuable guidance to industry partners to ensure that their projects reflect the standards of the industry and brand image.
- Creates a centre of excellence for project management within the unit that provides guidance and coaching to novice project leaders across the organization.
- Oversees the Division’s budget.
- Manages, motivates and mentors the Division’s personnel to achieve performance goals and objectives.
- Undertakes all other duties directly related to the job scope.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management or related field.
- Certification in Project Management would be an asset.
- Minimum 8 years proven working experience in project management.
- Knowledge of global tourism certification standards, eco systems, heritage sites and sustainable tourism best practices would be an asset.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, building and quality standards for the development of infrastructure, amenities, sites and attractions.

The Industry, Branding and Packaging Officer reports to the Manager of Research, Strategy and Marketing and is responsible for implementing branding, packaging and marketing activities for the Trinidad Tourism Sector Brand in keeping with the Brand’s Strategies and Guidelines.ACCOUNTABILITY
The Industry, Branding and Packaging Officer will be held accountable for:- Positioning and packaging Trinidad as a premier destination for meetings, conventions, business events and specialized niche markets in sports-, eco-, cultural-, heritage- tourism.
- Driving brand identity and growth opportunities in the local and global marketplace to improve visitor arrivals.
KEY DUTIES
- Works with the Manager of Research, Strategy and Marketing to build a destination brand identity and develop brand guidelines.
- Implements branding, packaging and marketing campaigns and activities to promote Trinidad as an attractive destination.
- Identifies unique selling points that separate Trinidad from the competition and determines how this translates into a unique brand personality.
- Crafts a market positioning statement that describes the destination’s personality — core values and culture.
- Identifies target markets (segments) and establishes targeted messages and promotion/marketing strategies for these market segments; evaluates and reviews the impact on the segments.
- Produces clear motivational messages, themes, slogans, images and taglines for the destination and market segments.
- Oversees local, regional and global rollout of brand themes and messaging framework, systems and processes; works with the overseas tourism desks to oversee the global rollout of brand themes and messaging framework and to shape the global branding and packaging strategies.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that all marketing, promotional, public/media relations, communications strategies and activities inclusive of websites, digital marketing, social media strategies, newspapers, industry publications, blogs, promotions and events are packaged attractively to support the brand’s positioning strategies and are in alignment with brand guidelines.
- Works with external stakeholders to ensure that the Brand is consistently profiled in a positive and attractive manner in all products, events and services that fall under the brand, and are in alignment with brand messaging.
- Works with the Research Unit in conducting ongoing research on the effectiveness of brand positioning and monitors and evaluates the Brand’s impact on the tourism market, current and potential visitors, and targeted market segments; communicates timely marketing intelligence to Manager of Research, Strategy and Marketing and makes recommendations to enhance the brand’s market position and ensure long-tern brand maintenance.
- Develops ideas for new branding and packaging designs to adjust to market demands.
- Liaises with art designers, copywriters, media buyer etc. and signs off on designs and literature to ensure they meet the brand guidelines.
- Ensures that employees throughout the organization have a strategic overview of the brand — its image, messaging, taglines etc.
- Communicates timely marketing/brand intelligence to internal and external stakeholders.
- Builds partnerships and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, industry and social media influencers to drive brand recognition, boost visitor outreach and reinforce brand messaging.
- Conduct market research and focus groups to monitor brand distribution and consumer
- Provides feedback and analysis on key brand activities.
- Represents the organization in all creative meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum – First Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or other relevant discipline.
- A Master’s Degree in any related area would be an asset.
- At least six (6) years’ experience in brand or product management in a consumer industry.
- Knowledge of the Tourism Sector would be an asset.
- Demonstrated track record of building world-class branding and marketing strategies.
- Ability to manage complex integrated brand marketing campaigns within tight deadlines.
- Expertise in working cross-functionally and influencing across boundaries.
