Right vibe with full amenities and clean room

By Nerissa Hosein. I was stressed. Trinidad was getting to me, with the busy life, the hustling and bustling and the traffic everywhere. So I decided to run away with my family on Boxing Day to our little sister island of Tobago for a different vibe.

Tobago just has such a low key, relaxing vibe to it. It is like being in an alternate universe where time slows, people smile more and traffic is almost nonexistent. So as soon as I reached I felt like a new person.

I took a chance this year and instead of going to the bigger more expensive hotel I chose a quiet little guest house for which I had read great reviews. On arriving at Papa Joe’s Place my family and I were immediately greeted by the very friendly staff.

We were shown to our room and I must say I was so happy with my choice. They offered full amenities and the place was clean. It was the perfect vibe. For a mother of two young children who are always playing on the ground, cleanliness is truly next to godliness for me.

The few nights spent there were so peaceful. The ladies came and spoke to us every day, made friends with my kids, made sure we were well looked after and kept our room clean and tidy. Thanks to them, my family and I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the vibe in the beautiful island of Tobago.

A local perspective on Papa Joe’s Place

Stepping into Papa Joe’s Place feels less like entering a commercial hotel and more like arriving at a well-kept family estate. As a local citizen, the priority for a Tobago getaway often balances the desire for peace with the necessity of modern conveniences. This guest house manages to bridge that gap effectively. The atmosphere is immediately relaxing, stripped of the frantic energy found in larger lobby areas. Instead, the focus remains on a quiet, domestic environment that encourages immediate decompression.

The apartments are designed with functionality at the forefront. While the living areas are modest in scale, they are appropriately furnished to maximise the available space. The inclusion of a well-equipped kitchenette is a significant advantage for those who prefer to prepare their own meals using fresh local produce. This feature, combined with the close proximity to a nearby supermarket, allows for a level of independence that is often lost in all-inclusive settings.

For families, the safety of the environment is a primary consideration. The pool on the premises is intentionally shallow, which provides peace of mind when children are present. It is clear that the management understands the needs of parents, ensuring that the grounds are kept impeccably clean. The commitment to hygiene is evident throughout the property, from the common areas to the private bedrooms. Choosing Papa Joe’s Place represents a conscious move towards supporting local businesses that offer a high standard of hospitality and a genuine Tobago vibe.
