Relaxing at Scarborough Botanical Gardens

By Kielon Hilaire. I have always known about the Botanical Gardens located next to the Emperor Valley Zoo in Port of Spain in Trinidad. Recently, I was most surprised when I found out that there was another Botanical Gardens located in the sister isle, Tobago. I was able to visit the Scarborough Botanical Gardens and become engrossed in a nature-filled place that made me feel cool, calm and collected.

Celebrate with your loved one in Scarborough

The Botanical Gardens, located in Tobago’s capital, was so green and scenic that I immediately thought of having a picnic there with my significant other. This may be the perfect place to take yours to celebrate an anniversary or Valentine’s Day.

Perfect place for relaxation

Also, the garden was so picturesque that it made me feel like I could just toss myself on any part of the lush, green grass and take a nice, long nap. Tall trees were neatly positioned on a particular part of the land, forming an archway that was capable of sheathing me from the sun making it a perfect place for relaxation.

If you visit this place during the right time of year you are free to pick as many Julie mangoes and any other mangoes you like. There are dozens of mango trees that are usually laden.

At the Botanical Gardens, you can also get a solid view of Tobago’s ferry docks, boats and ultimately the ocean. For those who are truly into these things they will surely benefit from a great sightseeing and picture-taking experience. For me, it’s a place where I can see the ocean and feel free to scream, “I’m the king of the world,” like Leonardo Dicaprio in Titanic, and not feel like a crazy person. Well, that’s my kind of place!

As memorable as the one in Trinidad

The Scarborough Botanical Gardens did not disappoint. It truly was as memorable as the Botanical Gardens I had grown to appreciate in Trinidad. It is a nice, peaceful place that is suitable for singles, couples, families and even congregations. If you just want to get away from the city life for a while and reconnect with yourself or your loved ones then this garden is a very good option.
