Port Superintendent – LABIDCO

Employment Opportunity 

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), a leading Company in the development of the country’s natural gas industry, invites applications from suitably qualified nationals to join our dynamic team of professionals to work in a challenging results-oriented environment to fill the following position:

• Port Superintendent – LABIDCO

Objectives: 

Plans, coordinates, and executes the Port of Brighton (The Port) operations in a safe and cost-efficient manner in compliance with accepted standards and regulations.

The minimum requirements for the position are: 

• BSc. in Engineering OR Bachelor of Applied Science in Nautical Science/Maritime Operations/Engineering
• A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in oil and gas operations, of which at least five (5) must be at a supervising level
• Preferred: Working exposure to Terminal and Maritime operations and Marine Watchkeeping Officer (STCW’95) Certification
• Experience in cargo movements, receipt and dispatch operations, Logistics for offshore and shore base operations,
• Experience in operating a methanol terminal will be an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Key Attributes: 

Knowledge of: 

• Port Operations Management, HSE Management Systems, Process Safety Management, Maintenance and Reliability Standards, Basic Concepts of Engineering, MIS, Corporate Performance and Reporting, Shipping Economics, Shipping Contracts & Maritime Law, Marine Management Systems, Supplier Management, Cost Control, Budgeting, Logistics and Supply Chain Management;

• Attention to detail, requires being careful and thorough about details, recognising the impact of decisions regarding
• Results oriented, requires establishing and maintaining challenging achievement goals and exerting effort toward mastering tasks.
• Service orientation, requires ability to engage and effectively manage customer expectations
• Complex problem-solving skills, ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and identify solutions.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative and as part of a team
• Strong supplier relationship management with the ability to coordinate the delivery of services required accurately and timely
