      JOB SUMMARY
      The Facilities Assistant assists with facility operations at NIDCO and the Water Taxi ferry terminals.  Assists the Facilities Coordinator in ensuring that all terminal activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner within corporate policies and procedures, and governmental regulations.
      WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Facilities Coordinator
      KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Assist with the coordination of physical and event operations of the facilities.
      • Assist in identifying and resolving facility deficiencies. Identifying and resolving facility deficiencies includes determining whether systems are operating appropriately, determining whether aesthetic appearances are acceptable and is in compliance with governmental regulations and various health and safety requirements.
      • Assist with facility management and maintenance issues.
      • Assist in sourcing all services related to the terminal operations.
      • Assist in coordinating services for water, fuel, waste removal and power connections.
      • Assist in coordinating the concessions, janitorial services, security services and the parking facilities.
      • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Facilities Coordinator.

      DEPARTMENT ENGINEERING AND PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
      JOB SUMMARY
      The Project Officer will be responsible for managing the activities of Asset Inventory.       WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Programme Manager
      KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Inventory Count Project, ensuring adherence to quality, schedule, and control procedures.
      • Planning all activities related to the Asset and Inventory Count Project;
      • Assist the Programme Manager in the preparation of each location for the asset and inventory verification exercise;
      • Roll out of Count schedules and Count plans to Checkers;
      • Manage the Checkers and perform the Asset and Inventory Count;
      • Take relevant information (pictures, serial numbers) to support quantities and state of assets and inventory counted;
      • Fill out, validate and sign pre-printed count sheets with results of the verification exercise;
      • Drafting and submission of Monthly Progress Reports.
      • Performing any other project related task as may be required.
      • Perform other related duties that the Programme Manager may assign.
      KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
      • Strong analytical ability with keen attention to detail;
        • Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommend solutions;
        • Must possess strong planning and organisational capability with the ability to execute an audit work plan;
        • Demonstrates initiative and be able to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.  Must have good time management skills;
        • Strong ethical standards with high levels of integrity;
        • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

       

      KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES (Cont’d)
      • Good people skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff;
      • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team;
      • Professional presentation with high work ethics and trustworthy
      • Working knowledge of IT systems and standard MS-office products
      QUALIFICATIONS
      • A relevant University degree or certification in Project Management, Logistics or Materials Management
      • Experience in Project Management and/ or Engineering fields;
      • Experience in Finance and Accounting;
      • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing inventory.
      • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite;
      • Any equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.

      To assist with conducting financial, operational, and compliance audit duties under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager.  This includes:

      • Contribute to the preparation of audit work-plans;
      • For the process being audited, review and evaluate the system of management controls and assess their adequacy and effectiveness and, where appropriate, draft audit findings and audit  recommendations for improvements;
      • Prepare working papers that adequately documents audit work performed during the audit process;
      • Assist the Internal Audit Manager and Auditor II with ad hoc assignments;
      • Taking minutes at the Internal Audit Department meetings;
      • Provide support to the Auditor II and Internal Audit Manager for the daily operations of the Internal Audit Department.
      • Perform other related duties that the Internal Audit Manager may assign.

      Works closely with Line Managers and external stakeholders.

      KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      To assist the IA Manager in the execution of the Internal Audit function of the company and include:

      • Assisting in the preparation of the strategic and operational risk-based Audit Plans;
      • Conducting audits and/ or lead audit teams;
      • For the process being audited, review and evaluate the system of management controls and assess their adequacy and effectiveness and, where appropriate, draft audit findings, related risks and audit recommendations for improvements;
      • Preparing and maintaining audit files and working papers documenting adequately work performed during the audit process;
      • Drafting audit reports and assisting the IA Manager in the communication of the results of the Internal Audit engagement to relevant managers;
      • Utilizing tools and audit software for data analyses and improvement of audit efficiency and effectiveness;
      • Developing and maintaining Internal Audit policies and procedures;
      • Assessing stakeholder action plans and monitoring implementation progress;
      • Providing support to the IA Manager for the daily operations of the Internal Audit department;
      • Performing other related duties that the IA Manager may assign.
      KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
      • Ability to blend exceptional attention to detail with an ability to retain strategic direction;
      • Ability to produce high quality work;
        • Ability to identify issues, formulate opinions, make conclusions and recommend solutions;

        • Good people skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior staff;

        • Good knowledge of IT systems and standard MS-office products.

       

      QUALIFICATIONS
      • Degree in Finance or Accounting or a recognized professional designation in Accounting, as well as Internal Auditing (CIA)
        • Certification in other related audit disciplines such as CFE, CFAS, CRMA would be an asset.
        • Minimum of five (5) years internal auditing experience, of which three (3) years must be in a senior auditing role.
        • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.
