5 Negative habits to let go to be happy

1. Excessive drinking and drug abuse

Drinking is one of life’s pleasures, but too much can negatively impact your life and those dear to you. Although you may feel some degree of happiness while under the influence, looking back at the consequences can bring sadness.

Excessive drinking and drug use tops the list of negative habits as it leads to the development of deadly illnesses. Quitting excessive alcohol intake may take time and can be a difficult journey, leading to happiness. You may need therapy, moral support, rehabilitation, or to consume CBD products to help cope with quitting drug use.

CBD can help make the withdrawal from drugs more bearable. Visit this page for your high-quality CBD to help you cope with withdrawal symptoms-https://eaglemoonhemp.com/hhc-wholesale-products/

2. People pleasing

One of the most common traits of “nice guys” or people pleasers is that they almost always say “yes” to everything and everyone. Always saying “yes” can lead to sadness. People may find it easy to use you to achieve their selfish desires. After all, they know you’ll always say “yes”.

Learn to say “no”. Those who genuinely care for you will understand when you need to please yourself once in a while. When you focus on those who matter, you’ll have less need always to please people. Saying “no” may just be your ticket to living a happier life and getting what you deserve in life. “No” is also a magic word!

3. Tardiness

Tardiness comes with a price or fine. For instance, missing your flight due to lateness will make you pay more for your next flight. Also, lateness to class puts a dent in your academic record. It limits your chances of getting into the best schools.

Tardiness gives others a wrong impression of you in society, at home, and work. Perhaps the most painful part of being a serial latecomer is that you miss out on important events.

Transitioning from being a latecomer to a punctual person doesn’t happen overnight. Start by waking up one or two hours earlier than you usually do. This gives you time to plan your day before it starts.

Punctuality reduces pressure, prepares you for an event, and boosts your self-esteem. You derive happiness when you begin to reap the rewards of punctuality.

4. Procrastination

Procrastinating means not doing what you’re supposed to do when you should. The danger of procrastination is that it steals your most precious commodity – time. When you procrastinate, you spend at least twice the time completing a task.

Procrastinating also leads to laziness. Laziness doesn’t mean not having the willpower or physical strength to carry out specific tasks. Instead, it means having the skill, time, and energy to perform a duty but choose not to do it.

Procrastinating can also lead to a reduction in focus. This habit may be holding you back and delaying your progress. The best way to know is by asking yourself what you could have achieved if you’d done what you should have.

The moment you stop procrastinating, you discover that you can accomplish virtually anything you set your mind to. This is because when you quit procrastinating, your willpower increases. An increase in willpower can boost confidence, making you find fulfillment and happiness in your achievements.

5. Social media addiction

While social media seems harmless, it can easily make you vulnerable. For instance, too many people measure themselves by what they see others do, become, or claim to be on social media.

In a survey, a third of 600 adults contended that social media gave them negative feelings. From flaunting the latest cars and designer shoes to showing off first-class flight treatment and posting picture-perfect summer bodies, social media does an excellent job of showing people the opposite of their reality.

Seeing people flaunting perfect bodies and flawless skin may make you feel ugly. Likewise, seeing people post pictures in exotic locations can make you feel like an underachiever or a failure when in fact, it’s all fake.

It would be best if you started spending time away from social media to detox your mind from all the fake realities on social media. Spend hours or days off social media to connect with nature. Spend time with family and friends in a physical location for normalcy, privacy, positivity, and ultimately, happiness.
