MANAGER, CUSTOMER SERVICES
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating and developing the Customer Services Department in order to guarantee the delivery of the Authority’s established goals, objectives and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Plan, develop and recommend policies and programmes for the achievement of established departmental goals and objectives and direct and control the implementation of procedures and policies to ensure the achievement of approved work targets.
Liaise with other departments to ensure that quality customer service is provided in accordance with stipulated guidelines.
Supervise recruitment and training to staff members and ensure that disciplinary action is taken where necessary.
Monitor patients’ waiting times and delays and recommend solutions to alleviate such delays.
Ensure that a clean, warm and welcoming ambience is fostered and maintained in each customer service area.
Establish workload patterns for staff through appropriate analyses and scheduling to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
University Degree or certification in Hospitality Management from a recognised training institution in Customer Service.
At least three (3) years post qualification experience in a similar job function, two (2) of which should have been at the middle or senior management level.
Sound knowledge of the strategic planning process and functions.
Working knowledge of the institutional, regulatory and governmental framework.

ORTHOPAEDIC PLASTER TECHNICIAN
Responsible for providing assistance to the healthcare team through applications, adjustments and removal of a variety of casts, splints and traction fittings. Also, to provide assistance to the Orthopaedic Surgeons in the surgical room, clinic and wards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs the technical skill of treating patients with broken bones, soft tissue injuries and burns.
- Educates patients on the importance of compliance with treatment procedures, understanding warning signs and self-care practices to maximize optimum care.
- Immobilises fractures to any part (bone) of the human frame in the correct position and other treatments related to orthopaedic injuries.
- Applies and replaces plaster of paris and scotch casts – minerva jacket (cervical injuries), hip spica (fractures of the femur), body jacket (fracture of the lumber sacral spine), and long leg (fractures of the tibia and fibula bones), above elbow (fractures of the radius and ulna) and U plaster (fractures of the shaft of the humerus).
- Applies emergency removal of any other types of removable splints.
- Applies all types of slab utilised for soft tissue injuries and burns.
- Reinforces all types of plaster casts and traction splints.
- Cuts windows in plaster casts for inspection of wounds, sores or operation sites.
- Applies plaster cast for the prevention and correction of deformities of congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV) and also in the upper and lower limbs of patients.
- Prepares and positions the patient in the surgical room as requested by the Surgeon.
- Ensures that the accessories for the operating table are in place for specific procedures.
- Sanitises and ensures proper maintenance of all equipment and the area used.
- Applies and removes tourniquet in the surgical room under the direction of the Surgeon.
- Installs and removes balkan frames, leg frames and other related frames.
- Reports any accidents/incidents, complaints, defects and re-stocking levels of consumables to the organisational relationship.
- Pads bronze frames to be used for skeletal tractions on the orthopaedic wards.
- Splint-cuts one side of the cast due to an emergency.
- Cleans the affected areas on patients immediately after plaster casts are applied.
- Makes soft cervical collars used for cervical injuries.
- Makes and applies artificial pylons for the stumps of amputated limbs (leg).
- Erects and maintains the surgical table, and any other related equipment in the operating theatre for various operational techniques.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, such as medical, nursing and allied staff, as required.
- Maintains and monitors health and safety issues in the plaster room/surgical rooms.
- Maintains accurate notes and records.
- Assists with the transition of patients to specified wards within the Hospital prior to and after the procedures are completed.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) O’level passes; two (2) of which must be English Language and Mathematics.
- Six (6) months training course in the treatment of orthopaedic injuries to patients and application of plaster of paris and scotch cast.
- Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in a related job function.
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

The incumbent will be responsible for installation and maintenance work on all types of mechanical equipment and accessories.
Main Responsibilities:
To perform all preventative, routine, emergency and schedule maintenance work on mechanical equipment such as:-
Laundry equipment
Kitchen equipment
Boilers and accessories
Fuel oil systems
Steam Distribution
Incinerators
Cooling water distribution systems
All pumps and drivers
Water treatment facilities and distribution
Workshops and Garage
Waste disposal facilities

Other designated equipment
Conduct preventive maintenance work on all pieces of equipment at the prescribed time intervals.

Ensure that safety procedures complied with in the execution of all duties.
Prepare list of materials required to conduct these works and maintain accurate record of work done and time spent on each job.
Complete accurate Plant Maintenance and Risk Management reports.
Complete daily time sheet.
Minimum Qualifications,Training and Experience:
Craft Technician’s Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
A recognised apprenticeship in mechanical type work.
Minimum of three (3) years post training practical experience in Mechanical Engineering as specified.

Main Responsibilities:
Demonstrates and articulate sound clinical reasoning in synthesising complex evaluation data, identify a diagnosis and develop a comprehensive plan of care.
Develops and update appropriate plans of care in collaboration with the patient and/or their family related to the patient’s age and lifestyle, with measurable long and short-term goals and a defined discharge plan.
Understands the role of physiotherapy in the context of the patient’s age, total needs perspective and environment.
Performs age appropriate competency skills in the area of practice with respect to the patient’s problems.
Follows intervention protocols and alter the plan of care appropriately.
Discharges the patient when goals have been met or medical necessity no longer warrants intervention.
Establishes provisions for continuing services/follow-up as needed.
Meets competency skills for evaluations in the area of practice.
Consistently meets patient care productivity standards as established for job classification.
Works cooperatively with supervisors and peers to contribute to the overall productivity of the team.
Utilises support personnel when appropriate and available.
Actively supports and participate in patient coverage efforts across all divisions within the department as necessary.
Assesses the learning needs and capabilities of patients and caregivers.
Initiates patient and family education in a timely manner, relative to age, readiness to learn and emotional status.
Utilises appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, and appropriately monitor the patient’s/client’s response to education and adaptation of the programme.
Ensures that the patient and their family understand when and how to access further intervention.
Ensures that patient care documentation is timely, legible and efficient, and that documentation is concise, pertinent and meets the profession’s and department’s documentation standards.
Ensures that oral reporting is clear, concise, relevant and timely.
Performs all required data collection for the department accurately and within the expected time frame.
Ensures that peer review standards are consistently met.
Provides outreach and learning activities as requested, this may include: in-services on related topics, generating referrals and interacting with volunteers or visitors.
Provides clinical education experience for students, interns and Physiotherapist I as requested by Heads of Department.
Takes one (1) or two (2) students (Therapists with less than two (2) years’ experience) for long-term clinical rotation.
Adjusts supervisory techniques for individual students’/interns’ needs.
Participates in data collection for research activities to enhance clinical outcomes.
Serves as a technical resource to other Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists and the healthcare team during consultations.
Participates in community outreach activities.
Develops patient-education material and competencies on areas of specialization.
Participates in teaching opportunities, i.e. lectures and practical sessions for various levels of healthcare workers and mentor others in their area of specialization/interest.
Supervises long-term students (3-5 months).
Submits case studies in their area of specialisation or interest.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
Training as evidenced by the possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy, entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current registration with the Council for Professions Related to Medicine Physiotherapists’ Board.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar or related job.

PHYSIOTHERAPIST III
The incumbent will be required to provide work of considerable difficulty, overseeing professional and technical staff, providing physical therapy services for the assigned area hospital/district facility and all associated health centres.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plans and supervises the daily physiotherapy activities of the department.
- Assists in the management of patients.
- Provides and facilitates wellness programmes in health institutions (in areas including but not limited to diabetes, arthritis, obesity and back care).
- Supervises staff, give technical direction and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
- Directs, evaluates, disciplines, adjusts grievances or effectively recommends appropriate action in conjunction with the Human Resource Department.
- Prepares departmental budgets and requests.
- Participates in the development of departmental policies and objectives.
- Conducts performance evaluations and give appropriate recommendations.
- Attends Heads of Department meetings and all related workshops.
- Facilitates weekly/fortnightly or monthly staff meetings designed to discuss patients’ progress.
- Facilitates monthly staff meetings to discuss departmental issues.
- Provide in-service training and workshops.
- Supervises the operation and maintenance of all therapy equipment.
- Ensures services are in compliance with professional standards as defined by the Physiotherapists’ Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Training as evidenced by the possession of Masters or Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy, entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience within the Trinidad and Tobago Public Health System is mandatory.
- Demonstrate continual growth in clinical abilities by participating in continuing education programs with a minimum of fourteen (14) contact hours of a physiotherapy course per year and/or job related course.
- Current registration with the Council for Professions Related to Medicine – Physiotherapists’ Board.
