IKEA made an ASMR video titled “Oddly IKEA”.This video was targeted towards college aged young adults. The video featured IKEA’s dorm room furniture and essentials. The video uses a soothing, quiet, calm voice. The video has an intimate, uninterrupted feel. This ASMR video helped increase IKEA’s back to school sales.

Applebees Grill & Bar

Applebees created an hour long ASMR video of meat sizzling on the grill. The idea behind this video is to let viewers watch steak, chicken, ribs, and shrimp being grilled. The sound of the sizzling grill is meant to give people a sense of calm.

McDonald’s with John Goodman

Working with influencers is one creative aspect marketers use in the ASMR videos. McDonalds created an ASMR marketing video to advertise their fresh beef Quarter Pounders. John Goodman uses whispering in a microphone talking about the Quarter Pounder. He points out the taste, the melted cheese, pickles, onions, mustard and ketchup. Alongside John Goodman is a video of the actual burger he is describing. 

Lush

Lush Cosmetics released an ASMR video to market their brand’s cult-favourite products. This just may be the ticket to getting a good night’s sleep. Taylor Darling, one of the top ASMR YouTubers quietly whispers Lush Cosmetics product info and reviews. She taps her nails on a variety of product packages, drops items into fizzy water, and sprays body spray. This is all a way to get viewers to listen to the “sounds” of their skin care products.

KFC

KFC created an ASMR video of George Hamilton as Colonel Sanders in front of the camera whispering and making hypnotic hand movements. He uses trigger sounds with fabric and folding a silk handkerchief on the table. The video also includes mouth and chewing sounds while enjoying a tasty bite of crispy chicken. 

There are many other brands like Coca-Cola, Pringles, Skittles, Snickers, and Doritos that also use ASMR video marketing.
