A coconut vendor sits and waits for his next customer at an intersection on UWI campus in St Augustine. His coconuts are small, large, contains water only, or both water and jelly. Customers can even enjoy an ice cold coconut if they like.
You need to step back as he draws his cutlass and chops the nut very skilfully right before your eyes. The coconut vendor is situated right opposite a doubles and roti shop. Most of his customers are probably ones from across the road who fell victim to the doubles and roti man’s pepper sauce. After eating a couple doubles and roti with heavy pepper, nothing touches the spot like very cold coconut water.
Breakfast and lunch
U-Wee Doubles and Roti Shop also located at the same intersection on UWI campus in St Augustine is well known for providing good curry to those in the area. Students, lecturers, visitors to the university, residents of St Augustine, and commuters heading along the streets around UWI can be seen buying breakfast and lunch.
