There’s nothing like Chocolate Ponche a Crème for Valentine’s Day. Our friends at Ninja Chefs shared their recipes for their world famous flavoured Ponche a Crème. The flavours are Regular, Chocolate, Mocha and Pumpkin. Also, Ninja Chefs were kind enough to supply vegetarian substitutions in the recipe for those who would like to try their hand at making it.

Standard Ponche a Crème Recipe
3 Eggs (1/2 Cup pumpkin purée for egg-less)
1 1/2 cups of Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 tin Carnation Condensed Milk
Mixture of spices to taste – Nutmeg-Cinnamon -Clove-Spice Bark-Tanka Bean
1 1/2 Cups of Angostura White Oak Rum
4 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters
2 tbsp vanilla essence
Ponche a Crème Preparation
Ready a large bowl or wide-mouth pitcher and fine mesh sieve. Beat the eggs and lime until very frothy. Add the evaporated and condensed milk, and mix for 2 minutes. Slowly add the rum, then mix for another 2 minutes. Add the spices and Angostura Bitters and stir for 1 minute. Strain the Ponche a Crème through the sieve into the pitcher or bowl. Serve immediately on the rocks with a dusting of nutmeg or cinnamon. This preparation could be used for the other recipes. You may use a hand or stand mixer instead of mixing by hand.

Chocolate Ponche a Crème

1/2 Cup Chief Cocoa Powder Mixture of spices to taste – Nutmeg-Spice Bark-Tanka Bean
1 1/2 Cups of Fernandez Black Label Rum
4 dashes of Angostura® cocoa bitters
2 tbsp vanilla extract

Pumpkin Spice Ponche a Crème
1 Eggs (3 Cup pumpkin purée for egg-less)
2 Cups of Pumpkin Purée
1 1/2 cups of Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 tin Carnation Condensed Milk
Mixture of spices to taste – Nutmeg-Cinnamon -Clove-Spice Bark
1 1/2 Cups of Angostura White Oak Rum
4 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters
2 tbsp vanilla essence

Mocha Ponche a Crème
3 Eggs (1/2 Cup pumpkin purée for egg-less)
5 Tablespoon of Nescafe Instant Coffee
3 Tablespoon Trinitario Cocoa
1 1/2 cups of Carnation Evaporated Milk
2 tins Carnation Condensed Milk
Mixture of spices to taste – Nutmeg-Cinnamon -Clove-Spice Bark-Tanka Bean
1 1/2 Cups of Angostura White Oak Rum
4 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters
2 tbsp vanilla essence
