Job Title:Nanny, Live-in (West Village, NY)

Job Description

A private family in the West Village, NY seeks an experienced professional Nanny to assist with the care of their children. The chosen candidate should be outgoing, energetic, and preferably with an educational background to better anticipate the needs of the family.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing all aspects of childcare while creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment

• Light tidying up after the children’s play areas, including laundry for the children

• Exercise common sense and can take initiative in order to accomplish tasks and make decisions

• Taking children to and from appointments and activities

• Ensuring the safety of the children at all times

• Planning educational & recreational activities

• Coordinating children’s playdates, field trips extracurricular activities

• Manage children’s day-to-day schedule

• Packing and unpacking children’s belongings as needed

• Maintain a constant line of communication and report to the parents

• Running errands and procuring children supplies as needed

• Available to travel as needed by the family

This is a full-time, Live-in position. Accommodations are provided by the family on their property. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday with some Weekends as needed. Salary is generous but DOE.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years related experience working for Private Residences and children

• Excellent references required from current and previous employers

• Academic Teaching, Childcare, Child Psychology background is a plus

• Certification in CPR & First Aid • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Polished, poised, and professional

• Loyal, discreet, and sagacious

• Intelligent with strong problem-solving abilities

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills

• Must be okay with Pets

• Good swimming abilities

• Flexibility to work overtime, nights and weekends

• Valid passport

• Flexible to travel with principals to the Hamptons and any other location as needed

• Valid driver’s license
