I’m Kavita Marajh, owner of Makeup By K. I am hardworking, adventurous, fun-loving and witty. I love to give my absolute best in everything I do, especially make-up artistry. My absolute favourite thing to do in Trinidad and especially in our sister isle is go to the beach; to me there’s no better way to spend time relaxing. Other than that, I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music of all different genres and liming with family and friends.
How I started Make-up
Make-up Artistry came about as a fun class to take with one of my good friends. I had no idea that I would fall in love with it as much as I did and I am still smitten. It started just over eight years ago and it blossomed into my business today.
Although it is part time, I really do hope for it to grow into a full time thing. I enjoy doing different types of looks for both men and women for a variety of events from graduations, weddings, parties, and photo shoots. I have received many different requests, done makeup for clients with varying tastes, many who were having their makeup done for the first time. Each experience is unique and I appreciate and learn from each one.
This Christmas season will be “real pace” for sure since many people would be attending functions, dinners, and staff parties. I usually get my fair share of bookings for makeovers. I also prepare pastelles for customers so with these two things and my full time job as an assistant manager in a retail outlet, my hands will surely be full, and I look forward to it very much!
