      Chief Storekeeper

      The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following PERMANENT position.

      CHIEF STOREKEEPER

      SUMMARY

      The Chief Stores Keeper has the oversight of the general storekeeping and warehouse duties at all locations in Trinidad and Tobago, and ensures accurate manual and computer records maintenance; drive a forklift; maintain cooperative working relationships; provides supervision and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for; a diverse population.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      · Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.

      · Approves and directs the deliveries of requested surplus office furniture and merchandise; maintains records of all deliveries.

      · Fills supply requisitions; assists buyer to order adequate merchandise and supplies; delivers orders to faculty and staff.

      · Ships canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate.

      · Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.

      · Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties and repairs.

      · Trains and directs the work of assistants.

      · Receives, store, maintains and issues inventory comprised of store items.



      MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      · Degree in Business Administration or any other related field.

      · Minimum five (5) years’ working experience in a stock control environment.

      · Good working knowledge of computerised inventory system (Maximo would be an asset)

      · Excellent written and oral communication skills.

      · Excellent organisational skills.

      · Basic Computer Literacy and Supervisory Training

      Any combination of academic qualification related to stores

      Storekeeper

      SUMMARY

      The Stores Keeper will supervise all general storekeeping and warehouse duties at the assigned location; maintain accurate manual and computer records; perform physical labor; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; drive a forklift; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for; a diverse population.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
      • Makes deliveries of requested surplus office furniture and merchandise; maintains records of all deliveries.
      • Fills supply requisitions; assists buyer to order adequate merchandise and supplies; delivers orders to faculty and staff.
      • Receives, stores, tags and tracks surplus property; prepares property lists for items to be sold at auction.
      • Ships canceled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate.
      • Delivers furniture for various Departments as requested.
      • Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
      • Maintains the warehouse, records area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
      • Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties and repairs.
      • Trains and directs the work of assistants.
      • Receives, store, maintains and issues inventory comprised of store items.
      • Determines inventory levels for all items purchased and stored; prepares orders sheets for showrooms including item specifications and desired quantities.



      MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      • Diploma or Certificate studies in Business Administration or equivalent
      • At least 5 CXC O’Levels inclusive of Mathematics and English
      • Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management
      • At least two (3) years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping
      • Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations
      • Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
      • Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
      • Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment
      • Good working knowledge of computerised inventory system (Maximo would be an asset)
      • Any comparable combination of training will be considered

      Assistant Storekeeper

      SUMMARY

      The Assistant Stores Keeper will assist in supervising general storekeeping and warehouse duties; maintain accurate manual and computerized records; perform physical labor; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; drive a forklift; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for; a diverse population.

       

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Manage the initial acceptance of all consignments to ensure they are received at the correct location, free from damage
      • Liaise with Purchasing, Engineering and other departments to ensure a priority based receipting procedure is maintained
      • Monitor and control stock inventory
      • Use a computerized inventory system to record all material transactions so ensuring availability of parts and materials.
      • To assist the Storekeepers as required to maintain the efficient and effective operation of the main stores and to promote a culture of continuous improvement
      • Putting stock away in accordance with the Company’s Quality procedures (stock rotation). Receiving fuel deliveries in a safe and controlled manner.
      • Performing ‘cyclic counts’ and routine stock checks fuel dips as required.
      • Assisting with the organization of the main store and off-site locations from time to time at other stores facilities within the Corporation.
      • Assisting with input onto the stores computer and occasionally placing purchase requisitions on the instruction of the store’s Manager or in his/her absence.
      • Maintaining the outside area of the stores and yard in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
      • A shared responsibility as part of the stores team to respond to emergency assistance for the issuing of fittings out of hours.



      MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      • At least 5 CXC O’Levels inclusive of Mathematics and English
      • Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management
