Job Description
This position entails working with the finance team in preparation of the external audit exercise. This includes, but limited to, the preparation and updating of audit schedules, assisting with audit queries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and other duties assigned by senior staff.
Key and Critical Responsibilities
- Prepare audit schedules ensuring it reconciles with the general ledger and make recommendation for any adjustments.
- Update existing audit schedules ensuring it agrees with the general ledger consistently.
- Trace complex transactions through multiple inter-related accounts for accuracy.
- Review transactions ensuring that it is posted to the designated accounts in multiple accounting directories.
- Highlight and investigate transactions that deviate from the standard policy and procedures for recording.
- Assist in providing and tracking information requested for internal and external audits.
- Effectively communicate procedural errors that emanate during the audit exercise.
- Follow up on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank and Legal audit confirmations.
- Supports data entry and administrative functions.
- Assist with the preparation of Claims for submission to Client Ministries.

- Strong understanding of project accounting where risks and rewards of ownership of each project recognised on the Company’s books is held by an external entity.
- Considerable experience with complex reconciliations.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Exercises a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Team player with the ability to work with multiple parties.
- High level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
- Proficiency in software applications, including Excel and SAGE Accounting.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:- ACCA Level 2 or BSc in Accounting and Finance
- A minimum of two (2) years accounting experience
- Knowledge of relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
