AMD processors: Faster gaming, launch promising

By Darius Soyer. These new processors have 5900X being up to 50 percent faster than the 3900XT in gaming performance… AMD has reportedly sent out a guideline document to sellers/retailers (see below). It shows that AMD is trying to make this launch successful.

U.S. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is releasing their new line-up of processors on their Zen 3 architecture on the 5^th of November, 2020. The line-up consists of 4 new processors; the Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and the Ryzen 9 5950X.
There is no doubt that these new processors are going to be making even more headway in front of Intel. They have 5900X being up to 50 percent faster than the 3900XT in gaming performance. But, question of how the launch shall perform still exists.

Failure of Nvidia’s launch

Recently, Nvidia has begun releasing their new ‘Ampere’ family of graphics cards starting with the RTX 3080 on the 17^th of September, 2020. The launch was a failure as Nvidia only had a small number of cards available for launch day. The cards were sold out within 5 minutes online due to scalpers and the lack of availability. Stores like Micro Center had only a small number of cards in stock. People spent several days lined up out of the store awaiting the launch of the cards. Scalpers are now selling these cards at ridiculous prices like US$10,000 and even US$10,300.

AMD learned from Nvidia’s mistakes

Is AMD prepared to make a successful launch? Will it be an all too familiar case of disappointment like we have seen in the Nvidia launch recently? All hope is not lost, AMD has learnt from the mistakes of Nvidia and is not looking to disappoint. They have put in place several measures such as to prevent issues like crashes and scalpers.

Customers can enjoy Ryzen Zen 3 processors

This is so that their customers can enjoy it and bask in the greatness that is the Ryzen Zen 3 processors.
