Job SummaryResponsible for the development of IBT and Groups marketsegment(s). Solicitation of new customer relationships and accounts while maintaining existing relationships with current accounts. Consistently striving to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of guest room and meeting space rentals, as well as food and beverage services.
What will I be doing?As Sales Manager, you will analyse local market trends and competitor activity to recommend strategies that keep the hotel a leader in the marketplace through the development of future and repeat business. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:– Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads– Responsible forweekly active field work by representingthe hotel through conducting corporate & group sales visitsand other external sales presentations to prospective customers tosolicit, explain, negotiate and close hotel sales.– Utilizediscretion and authority to negotiate contracts and commit company withcustomers and establish agreements with vendors.– Write proposals and/or contracts toadvise prospective corporate & groups clientele for transient room rates, meeting space and/orbanquet date, space and rate availability for group accommodations (10 guest rooms) for moderately complex meetings.– Travel and engage in salesactivities outside of the hotel/country to meet with and entertain customersand prospective customers, participate in tradeshows, and industry andcommunity events to promote facilities, to make proposals, maintain contacts,and to close deals.– Attend weeklysales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support businessoperations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, intelligenceanalytical reports, reader board, etc.– Conductdiscovery visits with potential customers -(guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as otherhotel facilities in order to maintain competitive advantage that will driveconversion.– Daily visit to Compset in order toupdate reader board.
