Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the office of Agricultural Engineer I
(Range 53), in the Public Service.SALARY: Range 53: $11,902 – $13,688/$14,610 per month (2019).
Applicants who are not public officers are advised that the maximum age for recruitment shall be fifty (50) years in accordance with Regulation 16 (1) of the Civil Service Regulations, made pursuant to the Civil Service Act, Chapter 23:01 of the Revised Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:
An employee in this class performs a wide variety of the simpler or less complex duties in the design; survey and layout of infrastructures pertaining to agricultural projects and the supervision of technical, skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in the construction and/or maintenance of farm houses, livestock buildings and other structures incidental to agriculture. Instructions are received from a professional superior orally or in writing through designs, sketches, and/or plans, but the employee is expected to exercise some degree of initiative and independent judgement in the performance of duties within the framework of departmental policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by a professional superior through reports, discussions and inspections during progress and upon completion for effectiveness and conformity to departmental policies and procedures and adherence to established engineering and related standards.
MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Training is evidenced by a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognised University.
