A Relationship Manager is responsible for assisting both Financial Institutions and Clients with investment and deposit solutions, other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Banking Team and the Investment Firm, as well as syndication opportunities where they exist.
Job Purpose & Summary:
A Relationship Manager is responsible for assisting both Financial Institutions and Clients with investment and deposit solutions, other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Banking Team and the Investment Firm, as well as syndication opportunities where they exist. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and other segment specific solutions customized to the client needs. The incumbent will manage a portfolio of new and existing clients, and is accountable for growing the business through client acquisition and cross selling of JMMB Group TT Product solutions. In particular, the role will design and implement segment-based sales plans to achieve revenue growth targets and maximize operating capabilities, profitability, and strategic focus in order to effectively penetrate the market and gain market share.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Selling Banking and Investment products, including repurchase agreements, international access, equities, cash management, trade finance products, foreign exchange, fixed income, wealth management and capital market solutions.
- Responsible for executing integrated sales and relationship management strategies aligned with JMMB’s business plan to achieve desired profitability targets and service standards
- Expand Financial Institutions (FI) and corporate portfolio of accounts with varying/complex financial needs with the objective of funds under management and revenue growth within the credit quality standards within JMMB’s policies.
- The incumbent should be able interpret the target segments financial statements to identify specific needs and recommend solutions to address these with JMMB Country solutions, such as portfolio management, short term and long term financing, operational of cash management operations and foreign currency solutions aligned with the JMMB TT product offering
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for JMMB Group’s Brand reputation, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies
- Increase market share in the segment by acquisition of new clients through an active call plan, account planning and creation of innovative solutions to increase penetration and share of wallet of new and existing clients
- Identify and pursue new opportunities with existing clients in collaboration with product partners. Special focus in assessing attrition risk within the assigned client portfolio and instituting proactive contingency plans. The incumbent will need to assess the overall potential of relationships, determine appropriate positioning strategy and cultivate client for future wallet potential.
- Focus should be on identifying and creating a dialogue with industry stakeholders, specifically key decision makers/influencers within respective buying centres of the client relationship. The incumbent should also maintain appropriate networking with sector associations and conferences.
- Deliver the optimal customer experience at every client interaction.
- Conduct new business assessments:
- Gather pertinent information, analyze information, create and maintain client profiles, coordinate teams of relevant JMMB. Subject Matter or Product Experts to determine optimal solution design and deliver customized client presentations.
- Through extensive involvement, create local community awareness that JMMBTT is critically focused on partnering in the community and on providing broad, multi-product financial solutions to the Institutional and Corporates in the marketplace
- Demonstrate commitment and embrace continuous learning to innovate, grow and build on existing proficiencies.
- Ensure that the organization’s activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and governmental regulations
- Promotes JMMB’s philosophy of the Visions of Love and its unique culture with clients and team members.

Required Qualifications/Experience:
- First Degree in Finance, Economics or Business
- Perusing CFA Certification or equivalent qualifications
- Should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience client management experience with exposure to both Financial Institution and Corporate portfolios
- Proven ability to close/sell financial solutions and exceed targets.
- Licensed by the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission or a suitable candidate for licensing.
- Strong Excel, Word, Outlook skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of financial modelling is an advantage.

The Role is responsible for implementing approved portfolio strategies and in managing certain investment assets under guidelines established in the Company’s Investment Policy. The Portfolio and Liquidity Manager will contribute to developing appropriate long-term investment strategies that address regulatory capital limitations, liquidity and cash flow concerns and interest rate risk while keeping yield and price return as an important consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Investment Portfolio in keeping with the Service Level Agreements and the Investment Policy.
- The incumbent is responsible for implementing approved portfolio strategies through trade execution including funding transactions, as needed.
- Create and disseminate portfolio reporting by preparing and communicating investment strategy that is in compliance with portfolio guidelines to appropriate committees and Executive Management.
- Execute repo and reverse-repo transactions by managing dealer and client relationship.
- Enhance existing and new repo client relationship through value added financial solutions and exceptional service.
- Maintain competitive pricing to enhance JMMB Group’s profile within the market place and assist pricing portfolio daily.
- Determine funding cost and identify investment opportunities for the respective portfolio
- Provide JMMBITT product specialists with qualified referrals for cross-selling.
- Develop and implement effective processes considering factors that influence the ability to successfully execute transactions
- The incumbent should seek to trade approved assets and take advantage of any arbitrage opportunities in short term price movements to realize gains. Share any material market information to the trading team to assist in the management of trading positions.
- Interest rate risk management, assess attrition risk within the assigned portfolio and development of risk mitigation strategies
- Actively participate in the overall development of the Treasury business.
- Create gap analysis models inclusive of proactive monitoring the risk of withdrawals and coordinate contingency actions for short term funding needs with the Country Treasurer and entity CEO.
- Partner with other business lines within the JMMB Group to ensure on going and appropriate communication to support overall client and company objectives.
- Maintain frequent interaction with centres of influence, diverse industry segments, community leaders, regulators, and senior business contacts, including attending Client Functions and related networking activities
- Ensure that the organization’s activities are carried out in accordance with all regulatory, legal, and governmental regulations and adherence to internal control policies
- Prepare and convene ALCO meetings, as well as, the documentation and development of ALCO policies

- Engaged in the transformation process for the continuous improvement of the JMMB Group.
- Provide oversight and direction to the Team Members that report into the role in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Masters’ Degree of MBA in Business, Economics or Finance in Finance;
- Professional designation such as CFA, ACCA or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience preferably in Portfolio Management, Fixed Income Trading and Treasury Management at a financial institution
- Minimum of (2) years Supervisory experience
