From the early morning hours of Carnival Monday people were covered in oil, chocolate and body paint of every colour imaginable. In keeping with tradition, blue seems to be the most popular choice. At around 9.30 a.m. J’ouvert bands were disbanding as masqueraders from traditional Carnival bands were hastily making their way to predestined meeting points to get the show on the road. While some masqueraders were wearing dressed down versions of their full costumes, others made use of their full costume on Carnival Monday which would also be worn on Carnival Tuesday.
