      Description

      The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Desalcott) maintains its position as the largest operating desalination facility in the western hemisphere. The plant produces and supplies potable water to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).

      Desalcott is currently seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the position of RECEPTIONIST/ ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT. The location for this position will be Desalcott’s and HKL’s Administration Building – Frederick Settlement, Caroni.

      Job Summary:
      Responsible for answering all incoming telephone calls and receiving visitors.

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Answering all incoming telephone calls to DESALCOTT and direct calls to the respective person/department.
      • Relay proper messages when the person is not available for telephone calls.
      • Assist employees with placing outgoing calls when required, inclusive of international calls.
      • Receive and greet visitors/suppliers in a professional manner.
      • Record and distribute mail received via couriers (Fedex & TT Post, DHL etc.).
      • Record all incoming faxes and distribute accordingly.
      • Call Suppliers related to the issuance of cheques.
      • Keep proper records and arrange gate passes.
      • Type all envelopes for mailing of purchase orders/other documentation.
      • Schedule meetings as required.
      • Any other Administrative duties as assigned by the Manager.

      Job Requirements

      Qualification/s:

      • Minimum 5 CXC passes including English
      • Computer Literate [Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel]
      • Switchboard Training

      Experience:

      • 1 year in related field

      Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Team Player
      • High level of integrity
      • Adaptable
      • Excellent  planning and organizational skills
      • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
