DESCRIPTION
The Management Trainee will be responsible for all activities associated with maximizing sales and profitability of assigned brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maximizing Sales and profitability of designated Brands, ensuring monthly product quotas are achieved
- Gathering market information (i.e. price surveys, trade observation, third party research etc.); recommending and implementing strategies to ensure desired position and increased market share (i.e. timely suggestion and implementation of trade activities/promotions)
- Ensuring optimum distribution and developing new customers
- Producing an annual Marketing Plan including all proposed Advertising & Promotional activities
- Implementing and Co-ordinating all promotional Brand activities including co-ops and shelf rentals, ensuring Advertising & Promotional funds are not overspent.
- Ordering of stock on a timely basis.
- Liaising with Sales Representatives and Merchandisers to ensure daily routes are followed and sales quotas are achieved.
- Visiting customers with the Sales Representatives, building relationships and improving customer service.
- Spot-checking customers to ensure shelves are well stocked and merchandised.
- Preparing and submitting monthly reports.
- Hiring of suitable product promoters when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A First Degree in Marketing or a related discipline.
- Ability and/or willingness to manage people.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound problem solving and analytical skills.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be a team player.
