Description

Primary responsibility for the procurement of goods and services as required for the Company’s operations in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.

KEY DUTIES

• Ensures all incoming Purchase Requisitions are accurately completed in accordance with established KPIs, ISO procedures and Purchase Order policies
• Procures local and foreign materials (heavy equipment, light vehicles, machinery, construction and quarry items) and services
• Scans the market space and establishes relationships with suppliers to be grounded with market trends and innovative materials
• Aids in value engineering with the objective of deriving cost savings and delivering a superior quality product
• Submits monthly purchasing activity reports, demonstrating adherence to KPIs and established objectives
• Plans and coordinates purchasing activities for various projects ensuring effective and efficient delivery outputs
• Coordinates all foreign shipments with freight forwarders, brokers and suppliers, preparing and authorising necessary customs documents and ensures shipment is cleared and delivered to site
• Prepares actual foreign shipment costing.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• First Degree or accreditation in CIPS Professional level or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum three (3) years experience in Procurement comprising of:
  • Experience in international trade Customs techniques
  • Experience in procuring Heavy Equipment/Automotive Parts will be an asset

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Working knowledge of the procurement function as well as an appreciation of construction materials
• Analytical, calculative ability
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Negotiation skills an asset
