VACANCY

The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following two (2) year CONTRACT position.

WORKSHOP MANAGER (SOUTH)

JOB SUMMARY:

The individual will supervise and plan, at the tactical level, all workshop activities within the Corporation’s facilities, inclusive of first line activities, planned maintenance activities, cleaning activities and repairs of vehicles.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee, coordinate and provide direction on all maintenance activities in engineerin workshops.
• Oversee the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisors.
• Plan, implement and monitor systems and control systems for daily operations in the Engineering Workshop.

• Identifying all governing standards inclusive of HSE and coordinate training for staff and implementation.

• Overseeing investigations of a technical nature with respect to the functioning/non-functioning of mechanical, electrical and other systems on vehicles.

• Assists in technical specification in procurement of materials, spares and equipment.
• Examines cost data to determine variations from estimates and recommend corrective action.

• Performs related work as may be required by the Corporation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• The incumbent must possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with training in Fleet
• Management or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Strong written and analytical skills with a fleet management background and good computer skills will be an asset.
• Knowledge of materials testing processes and applications.
• Evidence of HSE training.
• Any other equivalent combination of training and experience within a fleet management environment will be strongly considered.

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Ten (10) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of truck, bus and light motor vehicles with experience in fleet management at the tactical level.
• Three (3) of these years should be at a supervisory level.
• Experience in project management will be an asset.
