The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA), is one of the leading Health Care institutions with responsibility for the management of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, St. James Medical Complex, St. Ann’s Hospital and 18 Health Centres throughout St. George West and St. George Central. We are currently seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following position:

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent will be required to provide administration, direction and coordination of quality health care through the provision of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Health Care Services for the region to facilitate the achievement of the Health Sector objectives.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Provides executive medical direction services to Primary and Secondary Health Care

• Provides medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and policies to improve medical management

• Integrates and coordinates the activities of the different levels of service providers between the Authority and the Ministry of Health on policy matters to optimize the use of available resources

• Ensures the establishment of systems of clinical audit, peer review for continuous improvement

• Assesses the training and development needs of the Region’s medical officers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• Post Graduate Medical Specialist Qualification.

• Post Graduate training in Health Services Management/Administration.

• At least ten (10) years experience. in a similar or related job function.

• Full Registration with the Medical Board of Trinidad & Tobago.

In all instances, consideration will be given to any equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
