HSE Officer Caribbean Airlines JOB SUMMARY:
The HSE Officer Caribbean Airlines will report to the Health and Safety Manager. The selected candidate will plan, implement, and coordinate safety and environmental programs and to ensure compliance with required regulations, procedures and policies. He/she will facilitate the identification of safety and environmental risks and promote the reduction or elimination of potential accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and safety-related financial losses. He/ she shall manage and coordinate safety visits from vendors and training to ensure compliance with safety policies and OSH regulations.HSE Officer Caribbean Airlines KEY DELIVERABLES:
Investigation: – Undertakes Health and Safety inspections on a periodic basis to ensure compliance to OSH rules and the CAL Safety management Policy. Investigates reports of near miss incidents, minor and major accidents as well as conducts the necessary follow up action as prescribed in the report recommendations. Conducts inspections of all Safety equipment, including but not limited to; fire extinguishers, first aid kits, safety harnesses, manlifts, and tools.HSE Officer Caribbean Airlines Compliance: – Ensures the compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and CAL’s Health and Safety Management Policy.
Health and Safety – Implements and adheres to Health and Safety policies and procedures, in collaboration with the HSE Manager. Champions the CAL HSE culture and maintains an environmental and sustainability practice. Promotes a safe and environmentally sound working environment to ensure responsible behaviours and attitudes relating to HSE is entrenched throughout the organisation.
Risk Management- Identifies hazards and assesses health and safety risks associated with the use of tools and equipment, workspaces, and work the environment to reduce the possibility of accidents and incidents and to limit exposure and liability for the company operations and interests..
Stakeholder Engagement: Ensures that there is constant engagement with relevant customers, suppliers, vendors and external agencies to facilitate information related to CAL and its operations is updated and communicated efficiently and effectively.
Administration – Provides administrative support including maintaining all departmental files, HSE records, and publications needed to support organizational activities and to meet applicable OSH requirements.
HSE Officer Caribbean Airlines PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the occupational safety and health field. You must a minimum of (5) CXC /GCE Ordinary level passes including Math and English as well as you must be certified in Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH). You must demonstrate a working knowledge of safety procedures and regulations as well as Knowledge of OSHA and the application of the laws to Trinidad & Tobago.
You must have a high degree of professional ethics and excellent judgment. You must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You must demonstrate interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, both domestically and internationally. You must be team oriented and well as display a self-starter attitude.
