      Reporting To:                                 Chief Financial Officer

      Position Purpose:

      The “Accounting Technician” is required to perform activities relating to the management of the revenues and expenditure of the Company, as directed by the Chief Financial Officer or his/her designate.

      Major Duties and Responsibilities:

      1. Performs work involving financial accounting and maintaining financial records.
      2. Balances and reconciles general ledger accounts and makes necessary corrections and adjustments.
      3. Balances general ledger to sub ledgers.
      4. Prepares, verifies and processes payment vouchers and ensure correct entry into the general ledger.
      5. Assists in the preparation of Annual Estimates/Budget of Expenditure.
      6. Assists in the preparation of requests for release of funds from the Line Ministry.
      7. Assists in recording of expenditure incurred on all residential and agricultural projects.
      8. Assists the Assistant Accountant in maintaining asset records to reflect acquisition cost, purchase date, depreciation charges and book value.
      9. Manage petty cash disbursements and perform periodic petty cash audits
      10. Enters all journals into the general ledger
      11. Assists the Assistant Accountant with managing accounts receivable by reconciling customer accounts, aged receivables reporting and interfacing with customers to ensure outstanding balances are settled.
      12. Assists with the accounting operations of EMBD’s business entities.
      13. Other related duties as assigned.

       

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      ·        High degree of integrity.·        Highly confidential.

      ·        Proficiency in the use of Peachtree.

      ·        Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

      ·        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

      ·        Must be methodical and accurate.

      ·        Must be analytical

       

      Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

      ·         Must be CAT certified.

      ·         A minimum of 3-5 years’ working experience in a similar capacity.

      ·         Experience preparing payroll for monthly paid staff.

      ·         Peachtree certification will be considered an asset.

      ·         Any suitable combination of experience and qualifications shall be considered.

      ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

      Position Purpose:

      The incumbent will be expected to provide high-level administrative support to the Manager in order to facilitate the efficient operation of the department/unit to which he/she is assigned.


       Duties & Responsibilities:1.      Prepares and modifies correspondence, presentations and other documents, as directed.2.      Carries out research, as directed by management.3.      Assembles and analyses data to prepare schedules and reports, as directed.4.      Manages and maintains manager’s schedule of appointments.5.      Arranges and coordinates departmental meetings and events.6.      Prepares letters and reports for meetings.7.      Assists with preparations for meetings.8.      Receives and screens clients and other visitors.9.      Receives and responds to phone calls and messages on behalf of the manager.10.  Sorts and distributes incoming correspondence including letters, faxes and e-mails.11.  Creates and maintains filing systems for the department.12.  Implements administrative procedures appropriate to the needs of the office, as directed.13.  Maintains stationery inventory levels, where necessary.14.  Performs related duties as may be required.

       

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

      • A first degree in Business Management or equivalent.
      • Administrative Professional Secretary Certification or other formal secretarial/ administrative training.
      • Computer Literacy certification shall be considered an asset.
      • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing support to senior staff.
      • Suitable combination of experience and qualifications shall be considered.

      LAND SURVEYING GRADUATE

       

      Reports To:                                        Land Surveyor

      Supervisor To:                                   Chainmen/ Field Staff

      Position Purpose:

      The Land Surveying Graduate is responsible for surveying the earth’s surface at various sites to determine the precise location and measurements of areas, points, elevations, lines and contours for titles, land development, construction, mapmaking or other purposes under the supervision of a Trinidad and Tobago Land Surveyor.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      1. Performs field surveys to obtain data for base plans.
      2. Performs construction stake-out.
      3. Supervision of Chainmen.
      4. Maintains and stores drawing files for active projects
      5. Extensive field work under the supervision of a Trinidad and Tobago Land Surveyor.
      6. Preparation of time sheets and technical reports.
      7. Reviews all drawings and other contract documents.
      8. Expected to acquire a thorough understanding of all drawings and contracts with a view to implementation.

       

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      ·         Knowledge of the organisation’s services, policies and procedures.·        Proficiency in operating Trimble GPS/ RTK equipment.

      ·        Proficiency in Total Station Operation and Automated Data Collection.

      ·         Proficiency in AutoCAD & Trimble Business Office Software.

       

      Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

      • A BSc. Degree in Land Surveying or Geomatics.
      • Thorough knowledge of effective practices, methods, techniques and equipment used in Land Surveying.
      • Post graduate training will be considered an asset.
