DESCRIPTION

To monitor account balances, discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies, collect and validate bills and prepare service entries for payment of bills.

 

• Manage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies
• Collect all information needed to calculate bills receivable (order amounts, discount rates etc.)
• Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that costs are within negotiated and agreed upon parameters and cost control guidelines
• Ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures
• Check the data input in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of final bill
• Ensure billing amendments for received invoices and bills are processed and sent to suppliers through various channels (mail, e-mail etc.)
• Issue supplier account statements periodically or whenever necessary
• Coordinate with accounts department and financial controller to ensure invoices are paid on time.
• Send reminders for service tickets/invoices and contact service providers when required.
• Update accounting records with new payments, balances, service provider information etc.
• Answer questions and handle complaints from service providers regarding bills
• Report on financial activity to management
• Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfill the job purpose

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance or related discipline OR Chartered Certified Accountant qualification (ACCA or FCCA).
• Five (5) years’ experience in the accounting field preferably in the oil and gas industry
• Experience using SAP (PM/MM) will be an asset
