      JOB DESCRIPTION

      CONTRACTUAL POSITION

      JOB TITLE:                             ASSISTANT PRODUCER
      JOB SUMMARY:
      To assist in the planning, organizing and coordinating of television programmes aimed at furthering public understanding of the Division’s activities, objectives and achievements.
      REPORTS TO: Producer
      SUPERVISION GIVEN TO: Designated Staff
      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      •  Assist in the planning, organizing and coordinating the activities in the Information Unit.
      • Select topic on subject matter for programmes and conducts research into relevant subject matter to obtain supportive information.
      • Contact and obtain the services of interviewers, moderators and other persons for programmes and keep talent files on such persons
      • Advise on equipment and technical needs of the Division.
      • Make arrangements with TV stations for use of facilities.
      • Supervise and participate in programmes and determine appropriateness of audio work, scenes, music, camera work and other inputs to such programs and review scripts.
      • Attend meetings, discuss programmes content
      • Direct production
      • Perform other duties as assigned.
      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      KNOWLEDGE:
      • Knowledge  of principles and technique of Mass Communication
      • Excellent knowledge of television program production and equipment
      • Interviewing techniques
      SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
      • Ability to develop television programs and to coordinate the inputs for them
      • Ability to analyse and evaluate social and economic data
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
      • Ability to work with little supervision
      • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, stakeholders and the public
      • Skill in the use of personal computer
      • Good problem solving skills
      MINIMUN EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
      • Associate Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication with TV production a major subject or Radio & TV Arts  with two (2) years experience in similar position

      OR

      An equivalent combination of training and experience

      JOB TITLE:                             PARKS AND FACILITIES MANAGER
      JOB SUMMARY:
      The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of Parks and Facilities under the purview of the Division of Tourism Culture and Transportation.
      REPORTS TO: Tourism Manager
      SUPERVISION GIVEN TO: Designated Staff
      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      •  Manages Parks and Facilities under the purview of the Division of Tourism Culture and Transportation this includes grounds, buildings and historical monuments.
      •  Ensures that all grounds, natural, cultural and historical resources at Parks and Facilities are well maintained and protected at all times.
      • Performs regular inspections of Parks and Facilities, documenting and reporting all findings to supervisor.
      • Follow up with relevant personnel/department to ensure that all reported issues are rectified in a timely manner.
      • Ensures that facilities are in compliance with OSHA Act and all Occupational Health and Safety guidelines are adhere to.
      • Liaise with the Project Implementation department for maintenance, remedial and developmental works to Parks and Facilities
      • Supervise staff ensuring that tasks are performed correctly, efficiently and effectively.
      • Prepare reports as required.
      • Works collaboratively with internal and external customers.
      • Receives, investigates, and responds to problems and complaints from citizens, other department representatives, and outside agencies in a professional manner; identifies and reports findings and takes necessary corrective action.
      • Prepare and maintain records of all contents of all building, machinery, equipment, plants etc. at parks and facilities
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
      KNOWLEDGE:
      • Knowledge of OSHA
      • Knowledgeable in the practices of researching operational issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting effective reports.
      SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
      • Skill in the use of personal computer
      • Good problem solving skills
      • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and to prepare reports, briefs and other documents.
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with associates and members of the public.
      • Ability to plan, organize, assign, review, and evaluate the work of staff; train staff in work procedures.
      • Ability to work with little supervision
      MINIMUN EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
      • Bachelor’s degree in natural science, public or business administration, facilities management or a related field minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

      OR

      • Any combination of training, education, and experience including at least three(3) in a managerial/supervisory capacity

      MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (On Contract)

                Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant position of Management Accountant in the Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation.

      JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is required to provide strategic financial support to the Administrator of the Division, thereby facilitating the effective monitoring and evaluation of various activities and initiatives in the Division.

      QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

      • A CIMA, CMA, or ACCA graduand from a recognized institution or any similar professional qualification with a minimum of at least five (5) to (6) years’ experience in financial /management accounting;
      • Two (2) years’ experience in a management position;
      • Public sector management systems/programmes and training as evidenced by a certification in management/human resource techniques or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
