Applications are invited from persons with suitable qualifications to fill the position of “Administrator I” at Republic Bank Limited.
The jobholder is responsible for providing specialized service in administering Deceased Estates, Continuing Trusts, Charitable Trusts, Statutory Funds, Settlements, Bonds, Pension Plans, Savings Plans, and Employee Share Ownership Plans, in accordance with the Will, Trust Deed, Executorship and Trust Law, and governing Pension Plan regulations and the general guidelines of the Bank so that an efficient and high quality service is provided to both individual and corporate customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Analyzing Wills and Trust documents to determine requirements ensuring that internal records/controls are set up and updated in accordance with the terms of the Wills and Trusts.
- Executing the Plan of the administration including the collection of assets, payment of liabilities, including income tax and distribution of assets in accordance with the terms of the Will and governing Trust documents.
- Preparing Executorship and Trust accounts for filing with the Probate Registry and for submission to beneficiaries and providing input and ensuring timely preparation of Pensions and Savings Plans accounts as well as triennial Actuarial Valuation for Pension Plans.
- Sanctioning payments to beneficiaries and other transactions as an ‘A’ signatory in cases under control.
- Instructing and liaising with attorneys-at-law, real estate agents, actuaries, auditors, insurance companies and government offices (including the Board of Inland Revenue and the Central Bank), both local and foreign in the administration of trusts.
- Providing assistance to companies and plan members in respect of the interpretation of Trust Deeds and Rules of the respective Pension Plans, resolving queries and advising on benefits provided under the plan.
- Undertaking annual review of all cases.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
The jobholder should have:
- At least two years supervisory experience
- Degree in Law, Accounting or Finance
- Completion of Trust and Estate Administration of ACIB or equivalent qualifications
- Sound knowledge of the laws relating to Wills, Trusts, and Administration of Estates, Executorship and Trust Accounting, the Income Tax Ordinance and the Insurance Act 1980, financial accounting, the practice and principles of pension plan administration and other governing legislation.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Good Analytical, Investigative, Numeracy, Organizational, Creative and Written/Oral communication skills.
