VACANCY
The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC), in its drive towards improving and expanding its services, is pleased to invite applications for the following permanent position.
CHARGEHAND LABOURER/CLEANER (TOBAGO)
TWO (2) POSITIONS
SUMMARY
Leads and directs a team of cleaners to carry out cleaning activities on the Corporation’s fleet of vehicles, workshops, bus terminals, stations, platforms, yard and compound.
Examines work carried out by cleaners to ensure acceptable standards are maintained.
Ensures vehicles are prepared for service schedules and cleaned thereafter.
Complete documentation as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises the washing and cleaning of buses, bus terminal, stations, platforms, yard or compound and other premises of the Corporation.
- Supervises and assigns manual work to unskilled workers.
- Disciplines subordinates as necessary.
- Arranges for the supply of material and equipment necessary for washing and cleaning duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three (3) CXC/GCE O’ level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
- Very good reading and report writing abilities are required.
- Familiarization with the use of computers will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of HSE standards will be an asset.
- Ten (10) years working experience in a cleaning environment.
