      The Engineer, Mechanical (II) reports to the Superintendent, Project Engineering.

      What you will do:

      • Follow safety rules, guidelines, codes, and standards for all projects (UL, NEC, NFPA, EC, etc.) and participate in pre-task planning, and reporting any safety issues or concerns to management
      • Generate justifiable ideas for plant and equipment sustainability and enhancement projects
      • Establish sound project objectives that align with project justification
      • Carry out Conceptual Engineering to develop a high-level scope and specifications that aligns with project objectives with input and agreement from key stakeholders
      • Review and evaluate vendor, consultant, and contractor proposals to ensure they meet functional and technical requirements and participate in external resource selection
      • Carry out Feasibility reviews on several project alternatives to allow for selection of the best solution based on benefits and risks
      • Lead and participate in Detailed Engineering design reviews for the project solution
      • Develop detailed Project Execution Plans to guide the procurement, execution, and commissioning activities of the project and gain stakeholder agreement
      • Develop detailed scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and engineering specifications for projects
      • Manage the field construction of projects during execution
      • Ensure Pre Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) and construction punch lists are completed during commissioning
      • Carry out all project Stage Gate progression activities required as part of the Project Management Process
      • Carry out all project Financial Approval request activities required as part of the Project Management Process
      • Monitor and update project performance against the plan, update forecasts and implement Change Control as required to address any performance issues
      • Other duties as assigned



      What you will bring:

      • BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
      • 5 – 7+ years’ Mechanical Engineering design and field experience in chemcial plant, refinery, power plant, or other relevant industry
      • Design and field experience related to these industries is considered as being equivalent
      • 5+ years or more experience in Process Safety Management with emphasis in Mechanical Integrity program
      • Sound understanding of ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes
      • Knowledge of high temperature and pressure metallurgy and corrosion resistant metallurgies
      • Experience with plant design and project engineering a plus
      • Knowledge in the design and implementation of all engineering disciplines
      • Capable of working with various departments and levels within the organisation, and highly organized
      • Project management and controls, and systems skills
      • Working knowledge of codes and standards as they apply to process equipment and capital project upgrades

      The Manager, Technical Training will report to the site’s Managing Director.

      What you will do:

      • Direct, plan, implement, promote and control an operator training program with effective induction and recurrent training
      • Direct, plan, implement, promote and control a maintenance training program for mechanical technicians with effective induction and recurrent training
      • Direct, plan, implement, promote and control an electrical and instrumentation training program with effective induction and recurrent training
      • Direct, plan, implement, promote and control a contractor training program with effective induction and recurrent training
      • Direct, plan, implement, promote and control training program for professionals with effective induction and recurrent training
      • Maintain an interface with management in all areas of employee training and education
      • Monitor Trinidad’s entire training program (employee and contractor) and recommend to management where remedial action may be necessary to bring up to standards and ensure due diligence, while communicating to management team where training programs and procedures can be improved or expanded to meet current and future needs
      • Coordinate and collaborate with Human Resources, SHE and Process Safety in order to achieve various training objectives at Trinidad site
      • Support and work with Human Resources in providing management and employees with training, information, contacts, and resources concerning leadership and supervisory development, higher education, certifications, etc. to enhance individual competencies which will enable all employees to perform current and possible future job assignments at maximum potential
      • Support and work with SHE & Process Safety to ensure employees are properly trained to safely perform tasks and effective training is provided to staff in safety program requirements
      • Review available data streams (SHE, PSM, M&R, Operations, Employee Engagement) to determine any necessary modifications to the training
      • Develop annual training goals and objectives for Trinidad to the management team for discussion, feedback, and approval
      • Oversee the development, and support the evolvement of training programs
      • Identify and report on Training Metrics, effectiveness and ROI on training
      • Audit reference materials, selection of materials, class outlines, lesson plans, and training aids to ensure materials are sufficient for supporting operating functions and ensuring safe operating techniques
      • Ensure required competencies are clearly communicated to employees being trained so expectations are clear
      • Ensure competency checks are in place to assess training and performance
      • Work with appropriate supervisors and human resources and provides feedback and recommendations regarding probationary employees or to address performance concerns and training needs of existing employees
      • Continually manage and strive to ensure existing training content is evergreen so that materials and presentations of classes or computer based training are effective and consistent with government regulations and corporate policy and guidelines
      • Monitor (as necessary) outside trainers, vendors, and consultants to ensure that training is conducted in an efficient, effective, legal, and professional manner
      • Provide day-to-day direction and oversight to the training personnel to fulfill identified training objectives
      • Ensure a high level of service and efficient performance of training roles by establishing, monitoring and measuring goals and objectives and coaching direct reports for superior performance
      • Personally conduct training as needed and appropriate and develop, prepare, and introduce training specifications, policies, procedures, programs, or manuals as necessary
      • Verify and assure achievement of government regulations and corporate policy and guidelines for instructor or employee certifications and other company objectives
      • Manage and ensure current and accurate records retention is being captured through the existing Learning Management System, and that current LMS Success Factors is being utilized at full potential
      • Compile, analyze, and report to site on compliance with recurrent training
      • Develop Training Steering Committee which should meet monthly to collaborate on progress and needs
      • Produce Monthly Training Report with metrics for circulation to Department Heads
      • Coordinate the review, update, and upkeep of Development Plans for each employee in Success Factors in collaboration with department heads and employees
      • Critically evaluate data from Performance Assessments (MAP) to determine training and developmental needs for each employee in collaboration with Department Heads and managers responsible for training in SHE, Operations, and Maintenance & Reliability

      What you will bring:

      • A BSc degree in Education, Human Resource Management, Engineering, or equivalent, supplemented by a certificate in Adult Learning or Facilitation offered by a recognized university
      • Strong leadership skills and ability to deliver high quality and effective training personally, and through direct reports
      • At least 6-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably heavy industry energy sector, and a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching and training delivery experience
      • Knowledgeable of government and regulations as well as company policies and guidelines with ability to extract pertinent information from resource materials and incorporate into training design
      • Knowledgeable of training standards and requirements including in industrial mobile equipment
      • Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design
      • Ability to assess the overall training program, and make recommendations to management for improvement
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills and computer literacy
      • Strong use of technology and computing skills so as to be able to master the use of all software programs utilized in the training process, compile and deliver presentations
