DRIVER/MESSENGER VACANCY

 The Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA) is a statutory body governed by the IMA Act Chap 37:01.  The IMA is required to conduct research on the marine and related environment of Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean and to provide an advisory service to the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.  The Institute invites applications for the position of:

 DRIVER/MESSENGER

The Job:

The candidate will be responsible for providing messenger services related to orders, mail, messages, and other items to stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide chauffeur services as required.
• Make simple purchases and assist with the receipt, delivery and distribution of goods and supplies procured by the Institute.
• Collects, sorts and deliver mail, correspondence and messages as may be required.
• Maintain log for hand-delivered purchase orders, mail, correspondence and messages.
• Collects and deliver incoming mail as may be required.
• Keep the assigned motor vehicle in a clean and tidy manner.
• Report all defects, breakdown or other deficient conditions affecting the assigned motor-vehicle.
• Perform any other duties duly assigned by the Finance and Administration Manager or designated representative.

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

• Elementary Education.
• Valid Drivers Permit with an endorsement for Heavy T.
• Five years’ driving experience.
• Training in Defensive Driving.
• Knowledge of the basics principles of automotive operations sufficient to detect defects in operations.
• Ability to understand simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple clerical tasks.
