Reporting to: Director- Business Development and Marketing
SUMMARY
We are looking for a responsible Service Professional/Delivery Driver to distribute our products promptly and safely to our customers. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner, to aid in fostering our customer satisfaction as well as profitability.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Deliver a variety of items to different stores/locations, through different routes
-Follow designated routes, taking into account required delivery times and minimising mileage
-Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
-Pack bread according to order sheet, including delivery notes and invoices where applicable
-Collect payments
-Visit customers when required to ensure optimal shelf presence/merchanidising
-Inform customers about new products and services
-Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints if the need arises
-Complete logs and reports
-Use initiative in sorting out any production or order errors to ensure customers get accurate orders
-Ensure any messages are accurately passed on to appropriate members of Management
-Clean crates and coolers and clean designated vehicle after deliveries
-Any other tasks as requested, including running market stalls, additional cleaning tasks, helping with DIY at the bakery, and scope for increased delivery routes.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
-Valid driver’s license
-Clean driving record
-Can drive a manual panel van
-Ability to handle different types of personalities
-Customer-oriented approach
-Outgoing and friendly personality

Description
The incumbent is responsible for operating assigned heavy equipment/truck. The Operator/Driver is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform maintenance checks and basic mechanical duties on assigned equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To operate all heavy equipment which include Tractor Trucks, Container Trucks, Dump Trucks, Flat Bed Trucks and Hiab Trucks.
- To perform basic maintenance on vehicles.
- As an operator of these equipment it is expected that you be observant at all times and continuously check to ensure that all equipment are in good working condition.
- Ensure that all vehicles are kept clean at all times.
- To collect cheque and cash and provide invoices and receipts when necessary
- Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Fastens chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit.
- Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck.
- Driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab.
- Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer
- Service Vehicle Brakes where necessary
- Gives directions to helper in packing and moving goods to trailer.
- Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
- Maintains driver log according to Company regulations
- Operate HIAB as assigned
- Operate Backhoe as assigned
- Operate other heavy equipment as assigned.
- Assist in Loading trucks where necessary
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
General Responsibilities
1) Compliance with all KPL Group Policies.
2) Assist in monthly/annual stock taking as required.
3) Promote safety awareness and the development of a Safety Culture within the company.
Required Education and Training:
- Experience in haulage and driving of trailer trucks.
- Must possess a Class 5 drivers’ permit
- Forklift Experience would be an asset.
- Minimum two (2) O’Levels – preferably English and Mathematics
- 2-3 years’ Experience in a similar position.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge – The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Knowledge of maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Knowledge of record keeping system
- Ability to operate trucks in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records

An established distribution company since 2003 is seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Delivery Driver Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the goods are loaded securely and will not move or damaged in transit.
- Direct the van driver to reverse and park when needed.
- Pack and load the van for customer delivery.
- Unload delivery van and carry the goods into the customer.
- Obtain point of delivery signatures and take orders when needed.
- Assist in planning routes, navigate, and advise the driver about diversions.
- Clean the vehicle and carry out minor repairs when necessary.
- Take account of the delivery order and ensure that items are easily accessible.
- Call customers to confirm delivery times when needed.
- Check that the ordered goods are accounted for against delivery sheets.
- Examine the delivery van before warehouse departure, checking the load is safe.
- Build or assemble furniture or other equipment on site when needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 1 year work experience preferred.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.
- Attention to detail.
