General Accountability

The Teller Associate is responsible for executing sales and repurchase transactions as requested by the customer. This position ensures that new business relationships formed with Bureau de Change customers are properly onboarded ensuring compliance with regulatory, statutory regulations, Bureau de change terms and conditions as well as the Corporation’s Policies and Procedures

Key Responsibilities

Process routine cash and other negotiable transactions for new and existing customers

Verify all cash and cheques received from unitholders are in accordance with TTUTC’s policies and procedures and anti -money laundering laws (AML)
Process and distribute both cash and cheque withdrawals after all document and customer identity verification checks.
Conduct daily reconciliation process of all cash/ cheques/LINX/ and cash transfer tickets
Prepare the relevant bank deposit slips for end of day balancing
Provide routine non-cash transaction request in conjunction with basic product and service information

Conduct verification checks to enable distribution of cheques and statement for collection by unitholders
Prepare simple registration and business profile change document with the relevant supporting document for updating by CSR’s
Provide Bureau de Change services to unitholders

Pre-Screen and risk rate all new Bureau de Change customers
Conduct all relevant searches to determine the classification of a customer
Determine the authenticity of all foreign currencies received from individuals
Verify cash and distribute required currency in accordance with the prevailing exchange rate
Execute daily reconciliation of all currencies traded against the FOREX end of day reports

The selected candidate must possess the following combination of qualifications, skills, training and experience:

Passes in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level CXC/CSEC Ordinary Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics at GeneralProficiency Grades 1, 2 or 3 with a maximum of 2 subjects at Grade 3Two (2) GCE/CAPE Advanced Level subjects.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role preferably at a Financial institution
Suitable combination of training and experience
High level of confidentiality and integrity
Passion for delivering excellent customer service
Sales Driven
Ability to work independently and in teams
Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
Ability to analyse and interpret information and data received
Excellent telephone and office etiquette
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Ability to work in teams
