      Key Accountabilities:

      • Manages loss control (product quality, demurrage and giveaway)
      • Develops Marine Emergency Response strategy and responds as necessary
      • Oversees operating and supply contracts with external Service Providers to ensure business needs are met and adherence to standards, regulations and operating practices.
      • Ensures a reliable supply of utilities (water, steam, air) and quality on demand by the facilities
      • Prioritizes and address cost challenges including operating and maintenance expenses
      • Ensures compliance with Asset Management Systems and Procedures
      • Implements HSEQ standards and ensures adherence to same
      • Communicates information effectively upwards and downwards

      11. Analyze progress reports and cost analysis reports on projects and make recommendations to Manager on resolving/addressing operational and contractual issues that may arise.
      12. Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes, claims and variations and advise the Manager, Capital Projects accordingly.
      13. Assist in the development and administration of the departmental budgets.
      14. Assist in preparation of departmental weekly / monthly reports and any other related reports for both internal and external purposes.
      15. Support in the documentation of all contract related matters etc.
      16. In instance, it will be required to support other Team Lead administering large developmental projects and collaborate with other departments and executive to realize the success of projects.

                                                                                        General accountability:

      Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for NQCL’s unionized staff. The position is also responsible for the preparation of all reports related to payroll and leave, as well as assisting with other Human Resources functions.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

      1. Supervise department’s support staff.
      2. Verify payroll process to ensure compliance with Collective Agreement and all NQCL’s Policies and Procedures as it relates to payroll.
      3. Ensure that contracts, letters of temporary appointment, acting recommendation forms are approved and kept up to date.
      4. Interacts with Supervisors and Heads of Departments to ensure that timesheets, overtime sheets and other payroll documents are received for processing in a timely manner.

      Key Duties & Responsibilities 

      • Takes action to ensure that all assigned facilities are available for use, as required

      • Inspects maintenance works and/or repairs in progress and appropriately records contractor /consultant/vendor performance that are not in keeping with manufacturer’s specification; approved scope of works; and/or formal contract.
      • Ensures that the Facilities Manager is aware of contractor performance issues to facilitate corrective action being taken to address any deficiencies in the quality of services received
      • Performs mandatory preventative maintenance and routine inspections as required
      • Liaises with Contractors, Consultants and / or Vendors and coordinates delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies
      • Tracks invoices for goods and services and submits for approval to the Facilities Manager;
      • Conducts follow up to ensure that invoices are submitted to the Finance Division for processing
      • Liaises with the Finance Division to ensure that Consultants/Contractors or Vendors are paid for goods and services completed according to specification(s)
      • Undertakes daily inspections and advises of any security issues of concern
      • Receives and investigates customers/ complaints and provides feedback as necessary; escalates to a senior official  when necessary
      • Receives service requests and transmits same to the relevant personnel undertaking follow-up activities as required to ensure customer satisfaction

      • Conducts research, undertakes analysis and makes recommendations relevant to the acquisition of goods and services for use in assigned facilities
