Description
The Driver is directly accountable to the Transport Coordinator and reports functionally to the Operations Manager.
EDUCATION
- Five (5) CXC O’Level passes (including Math and English) OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in driving Extra Heavy /Heavy/ lightweight vehicles.
- Previous experience in an oil-service / industry environment would be a valuable asset.
- Experience using / operating Hiab and Forklift will be an asset.
- An acceptable combination of experience and academic qualifications would be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Driver is directly accountable to the Transport Coordinator and reports functionally to the
Operations Manager.
FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate company owned equipment to facilitate related operations.
- Operate trucks and trailers for the delivery, pickup and relocation of equipment, materials, tools and TESL.
- Perform required pre and post “user maintenance” / checklists and provide required reports / documentation as per Company policy and procedure.
- Provide outstanding and professional customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Maintain retrievable and valid required certifications required by law and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
- When not instructed, may plan route to ensure most economical, efficient and effective use of time and equipment.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Drives Company owned and leased light-motor vehicles / pick-up trucks to identified destination in a safe manner.
- Assists Operations with the relevant operations such as rig-ups and rig-down etc.
- Inspects company owned and leased light-motor vehicles / pick-up trucks for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
- Exhibits thorough knowledge of all applicable traffic laws and defensive driving skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 LBS repeatedly
- Capable of effectively troubleshooting all applicable equipment.
- Ability to safely drive various vehicles such as, forklifts, vans, trucks etc.
- Ensures and maintains a high level of general housekeeping of the company’s compound and while performing maintenance.
- Operating TES vehicles while on business in a safe, courteous manner complying with the acceptable conditions of vehicle use outlined in this policy.
- Conducting and documenting required pre-trip and post-trip inspections/risk assessments, including defect reports.
- Reporting all accident and near misses to HSSE and Management in a timely manner and in keeping with Company policy and procedures.
- Notifying the Transport Coordinator of any changes in license or driving status.
- Prohibiting the use of assigned vehicle by anyone not authorized to drive TES vehicle.
- Maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
- Performs any other related duties required by management to ensure the successful completion and/or running of TESL operations.
