Trinidad Hub Markets Treasury and Trading Head (C13)

Click ad for details[/caption]The Markets Treasury and Trading Head for Trinidad Hub is responsible for managing the Markets Treasury and Trading businesses in Trinidad, Barbados and the Bahamas. The overall objective of this role is to manage the balance sheets of the businesses and lead the execution and management of trading strategies. The role presents great opportunity for growth on the controls, strategic and leadership fronts, while requiring the candidate’s full immersion in the day-to-day business as a revenue producer.
The successful candidate will be able to design, develop, and execute successful business strategies, by combining strong technical proficiency, business acumen, and influence to achieve a sum positive outcome for the franchise in the countries. Most importantly, the candidate will be able to manage the business effectively, ensure robust partnerships with other businesses, client segments and product arms, while keeping strong emphasis on controls and conduct.
Responsibilities:
• Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, and ethics
• Establish clear, constant, and effective communication channels with all stakeholders including senior management, sales, trading, corporate treasury, banking, finance, Product Control Unit, regional leadership team, and compliance
• Lead Markets Treasury strategies and activities to ensure effective compliance with regulatory requirements and internal corporate ratios and risk policies
• Manage liquidity of the legal entities under all market conditions in coordination with Cluster Treasurer and Country Treasurer
• Manage the interest rate risk of the balance sheets within the Volcker desk mandate, optimize returns on the investment portfolio while managing Cost to Close and Other Comprehensive Income (OCI)
• Attend country Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) meetings and contribute to comprehensive analysis and discussions on balance sheet strategies for optimal resource allocation
• Provide strong supervision and strategic direction to the FX and Rates businesses
• Liaise with and promote business between the sales and trading team in coordination with the Markets Head and the product partners
• Establish clear and transparent pricing to maximize flow in foreign exchange and fixed income
• Work closely with Corporate and Investor Solutions groups to develop and deploy the right products and strategies across the Hub
• Develop and manage the risk and trading infrastructure, including portfolio risk, and ensure risks are correctly represented in systems
• Coordinate with control functions and other partners to ensure governance and control infrastructure is in place, and communication with regulators is productive
• Promote innovative ways to execute existing businesses, develop an innovation culture
• Drive data analysis projects to achieve business insight into existing or new processes
• Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
• Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in a related role
• Proven history of successful Balance Sheet and Trading book management
• In-depth knowledge of respective products and clients
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationEducation:
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
